Russia-Ukraine war: Frontline update as of October 29
On Tuesday, October 29, there were 158 combat engagements on the front line. The enemy is concentrating its main offensive efforts on the Kupiansk and Kurakhove directions and mounting active attacks in the Siversk and Pokrovsk directions, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Russian shelling
Today, Russia launched two missile strikes with two rockets, carried out 57 airstrikes, and dropped 101 guided aerial bombs.
In addition, the Russian army deployed 539 kamikaze drones and conducted around 3,000 shelling attacks on our military positions and populated areas.
Frontline situation
In the Kharkiv direction, Russian forces attempted to storm the positions of Ukrainian units four times near Vovchansk and Lyptsi, with one battle currently ongoing.
In the Kupiansk direction, the enemy attacked our positions 22 times. Near Synkivka, Kolisnykivka, Zahryzove, Holubivka, Stepova Novoselivka, Novoosynove, Berestove, Bohuslavka, and Lozova, Defense Forces repelled 17 assaults. Five engagements are ongoing in the Bohuslavka, Zahryzove, Kolisnykivka, and Novoosynove areas.
In the Lyman direction, Russian troops launched 15 attacks on Ukrainian defenders today in the areas of Hrekivka, Druzheliubivka, Cherneshchyna, Novomykhailivka, Nevske, Terni, Torske, Serebrianka, and Yampilivka. All enemy attacks were successfully repelled.
The enemy attempted 13 assaults to push our defenders from their positions near Bilohorivka, Verkhnokamianske, Zvanivka, and Ivano-Darivka in the Siversk direction.
In the Kramatorsk direction, Ukrainian forces repelled two attempts by the Russian army to advance near Stupochky.
In the Toretsk direction, where the Russian army attacked our positions, four engagements have concluded, with one battle still ongoing near Shcherbynivka.
In the Pokrovsk direction, the Russian army launched 20 attacks on Ukrainian positions throughout the day in the areas of Myroliubivka, Promin, Lysivka, Novohrodivka, Krutyi Yar, Selydove, and Vyshneve. Five engagements are ongoing.
According to current information, enemy losses include 220 personnel killed or wounded, as well as four buggies, two armored fighting vehicles, and two quad bikes destroyed. Additionally, our defenders damaged one armored personnel carrier.
The enemy continues focusing in the Kurakhove direction, having made 42 attempts to advance throughout the day, with 10 attacks ongoing. The primary battles are occurring near the settlements of Novoselydivka, Novodmytrivka, Maksymiliianivka, Dalnie, Antonivka, Katerynivka, Berestky, Illinka, and Trudove.
Current estimates indicate that enemy losses amount to approximately 100 personnel killed or wounded, along with the destruction of four tanks, seven armored fighting vehicles, and four motorcycles. Additionally, one infantry fighting vehicle has been damaged.
In the Vremivka direction, the Russian army launched six assaults on the front line of our defense today in the areas of Novoukrainka, Yasna Poliana, and Shakhtarske. Currently, four engagements are ongoing.
In the Prydniprovskyi direction, the enemy attempted four unsuccessful assaults on the positions of Ukrainian units.
Additionally, the Defense Forces of Ukraine continue operations in the Kursk direction.
Frontline situation and Russia's losses
According to preliminary data from the General Staff, Russian forces are primarily focused in the Kupiansk and Kurakhove directions, where they conducted half of all their attacks today.
Over the past 24 hours, Russian forces have lost 1,360 soldiers on the front, as well as nine tanks, nine armored fighting vehicles, 45 artillery systems, and other equipment.
