Russians focus main efforts in Kupiansk and Kurakhove directions - General Staff

As of the beginning of October 29, there have been 104 combat engagements reported on the front lines. The main efforts of the occupying forces are concentrated in the Kupiansk and Kurakhove directions, where they have conducted half of all attacks, citing the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Russian shelling
According to the General Staff, border areas of the Sumy region continue to suffer from Russian airstrikes. Specifically, terrorists targeted the regions of the settlements of Marchyhina Buda, Mykilske, and Nova Sich with guided aerial bombs, dropping five of them in total.
Artillery shelling from the terrorist army has affected several localities in the Chernihiv and Sumy regions today, including Volfyne, Turya, Basivka, Mkhy, Obody, and Zhuravka.
Additionally, the enemy carried out nine air strikes using 17 guided aerial bombs in the Kursk region.
Situation in various directions
In the Kharkiv direction, the occupiers launched two assaults on our positions near Vovchansk, supported by aviation. One battle is still ongoing. The enemy also struck Kharkiv and Hoptivka with aerial bombs.
In the Kupiansk direction, the enemy attacked our positions 22 times. Ukrainian defenders repelled enemy assaults near Synkivka, Kolisnykivka, Torske, Zahryzove, and Lozova. 12 combat engagements are ongoing near Holubivka, Stepova Novoselivka, Novoosynove, Berestove, and Terny.
In the Lyman direction, enemy units attacked near Hrekivka, Druzhlyubivka, Cherneshchyna, and Yampolivka. Since the start of the day, Ukrainian forces have already repelled five attacks.
In the Siversk direction, the enemy launched attacks in the areas of Bilohorivka, Verkhniokamianske, Zvanivka, and Ivano-Dariivka. They conducted airstrikes using four guided bombs on Siversk and two on Riznykivka.
In the Kramatorsk direction, the invaders carried out two assault actions near Stupochky, with one attack currently ongoing.
In the Toretsk direction, Ukrainian defenders are repelling enemy attacks in the areas of Toretsk and Shcherbynivka.
In the Pokrovsk direction, since the start of the day, the occupiers have made 11 attempts to push our defenders from their positions in the localities of Myroliubivka, Promin, Lysivka, Selydove, and Vyshneve. Ukrainian defense forces have already repelled a total of nine enemy attacks in this direction, inflicting significant losses on the enemy in manpower.
The highest number of combat engagements so far has been recorded in the Kurakhove direction, where the occupiers attacked our units 29 times, attempting to advance in the areas of Zoryane, Kurakhivka, Kreminna Balka, Novoselydivka, Novodmytrivka, Maksymiliyanivka, Dalne, Antonivka, Katerynivka, and Trudove.
In the Vremivka direction, the invaders conducted six attacks on Ukrainian troop positions near Novoukrainka, Yasna Polyana, and Shakhtarsk, with four combat engagements ongoing.
In the Orikhiv direction, the enemy is employing assault aviation and has launched unguided aerial missiles at the area of the settlement of Novoandriivka.
In the Prydniprovsk direction, the enemy made one unsuccessful attempt to storm Ukrainian positions and shelled Lvove with unguided aerial missiles.
Frontline situation and Russian losses
According to the General Staff, during the past day, October 28, Ukrainian forces repelled 149 combat engagements with the enemy, with the highest number of clashes recorded in the Kurakhove direction.
In the past day, Russian losses on the front amounted to 1,360 soldiers, as well as 9 tanks, 9 armored personnel carriers, 45 artillery systems, and other equipment.
