Russia-Ukraine war: Frontline update as of October 29
Over the past day, Ukrainian forces repelled 149 combat engagements with the enemy. The highest number of clashes were recorded in the Kurakhove direction, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The enemy launched massive aerial and missile strikes, including a missile bombardment and conducted 93 airstrikes on the positions of Ukrainian forces and civilian settlements. A total of 67 guided bombs were dropped, and over 4,800 artillery shellings were carried out, of which 148 were from multiple-launch rocket systems. The Russian army also used over 1,600 kamikaze drones.
In the Kharkiv direction, there were four combat engagements, particularly around Vovchansk. In the Kupiansk direction, 13 attacks were recorded, which Ukrainian forces repelled near Kolysnykivka, Synkivka, Kruhlyakivka, Pershotravneve, and Lozova.
Defense Forces successfully repelled numerous enemy attacks in the Lyman and Kramatorsk directions. In the Pokrovsk sector, the defense withstood 31 attacks, and 48 attacks in the Kurakhove direction.
The situation remains stable in the Volyn and Polissia directions, with no signs of enemy strike group formations detected. The enemy has also not conducted active offensive operations in the Siversk, Huliaipole, and Orikhiv directions.
The Defense Forces continue operations in the Kursk region, where 37 airstrikes by Russian aviation on its own territory were recorded, utilizing 54 guided bombs.
Russian losses
Over the past day, from October 28 to 29, Russian troops sustained losses of 1,360 soldiers, 9 armored combat vehicles, and approximately 90 units of automotive equipment.
