Russia-Ukraine war: Frontline update as of October 27

The most challenging areas on the front remain the Pokrovsk and Kurakhove directions, with the highest concentration of enemy attacks near Selydove, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Over the past day, aviation, missile troops, and artillery of the defense forces struck two enemy command and observation posts, six areas of personnel concentration, weapons, and military equipment, one air defense system, and two enemy guns.
A total of 174 combat engagements were recorded over the past day.
Situation in the directions
In the Kharkiv direction, the enemy launched seven assaults on the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine near the settlements of Vovchansk and Starytsia.
In the Kupiansk direction, there were 14 attacks by the invaders within a day. The enemy heavily relied on bomber and assault aviation to carry out strikes in the area.
In the Lyman direction, the aggressor attacked 18 times.
In the Siversk direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled two assaults by Russian invaders near Bilohorivka.
In the Toretsk direction, the enemy, supported by aviation, conducted nine attacks towards Toretsk and Shcherbynivka.
In the Pokrovsk direction, Ukrainian defenders halted 41 assault and offensive actions of the aggressor in the areas of Vozdvyzhenka, Myroliubivka, Promin, Lysivka, Krutyi Yar, Krasnyi Yar, Mykolaivka, and Selydove. The highest concentration of enemy attacks was near Selydove.
In the Kurakhove direction, the defense forces repelled 43 attacks, with the occupiers most actively attempting to advance near Antonivka and Katerynivka. Additionally, the enemy attacked in the direction of Novoselidivka, Hostre, Dalne, Kostiantynivka, and Yelyzavetivka.
In the Vremivka direction, the enemy made five assaults on positions in the areas of Bohoiavlenka and Novoukrainka.
In the Orikhiv direction, Russian invaders unsuccessfully stormed the positions of Ukrainian soldiers once.
Five times, the invaders attempted to push the defense forces from their occupied positions in the Prydniprovskyi direction but were unsuccessful.
Operations are ongoing in the Kursk region, where Russian aviation continues to bomb its own villages and towns. Over the past day, Russian aircraft carried out 30 airstrikes with 45 guided aerial bombs on their territory.
Losses of the Russian army
Over the past day, Ukrainian soldiers eliminated another 1,440 Russian invaders at the front. Since February 2022, Russia has lost more than 689,000 soldiers, along with thousands of pieces of equipment.
According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, since the beginning of operations in the Kursk region, the Russian regime has lost over 17,000 military personnel, including 711 prisoners.
