Russia-Ukraine war: Frontline update as of October 25
Ukrainian defenders continue to repel attempts by Russian forces to advance, notably pushing back the enemy near Toretsk, according to an update from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Since the start of the day, there have been 142 combat engagements. The enemy launched one missile strike, 70 airstrikes using 106 guided aerial bombs, over 600 kamikaze drone attacks, and approximately 3,000 shelling incidents targeting Ukrainian positions and civilian areas.
Frontline situation
In the Kharkiv direction, Ukrainian forces are repelling three Russian assaults near Vovchansk. According to available information, Russian forces have lost 97 personnel killed and wounded there today, along with two vehicles and two pieces of specialized equipment destroyed.
In the Kupiansk direction, the enemy made 13 attempts to dislodge our units from their positions near three settlements, with nine of these assaults still ongoing.
In the Lyman direction, 24 enemy attacks have been recorded as they attempted to advance in the Serebrianske Forestry and other areas. Our units managed to repel 20 attacks, while four engagements continued.
In the Siversk direction, the Russian army tried to advance three times near two settlements but was unsuccessful.
In the Kramatorsk direction, there was one combat engagement, with enemy activity observed near Chasiv Yar. The advance was halted.
In the Toretsk direction, Russian forces attempted to breach the Ukrainian defense line, facing fierce resistance from our defenders near Toretsk.
In the Pokrovsk direction, there were 43 recorded attempts by Russian forces to advance. Ukrainian defenders successfully repelled 34 attacks, with nine engagements still ongoing.
Today, Russian forces suffered 394 personnel losses, both killed and wounded, in this direction. Additionally, three artillery systems, 14 vehicles, an armored fighting vehicle, and three motorcycles were destroyed.
In the Kurakhove direction, 31 combat engagements have occurred so far today. Defense Forces units have repelled 25 enemy attacks, with six still ongoing.
In the Vremivka direction, there have been 18 clashes. Thirteen enemy assaults were halted near Bohoyavlenka and Novoukrainka, while five attacks are still underway.
In the Prydniprovskyi direction, Ukrainian soldiers repelled Russian assaults on their positions three times, with no success for the enemy.
Separately, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi has dismissed Russian President Vladimir Putin’s claims about Ukrainian defenders being encircled in the Kursk region as disinformation.
