Russia-Ukraine war: Frontline update as of October 24
Ukrainian defenders continued to hold the line in the Pokrovsk direction, successfully eliminating hundreds of enemy soldiers throughout the day, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
According to Ukrainian military command, 157 combat engagements have occurred since the day began.
The Russian army launched one missile strike, 67 airstrikes, and dropped 111 guided aerial bombs on Ukrainian territory. Additionally, the enemy deployed over 580 kamikaze drones and carried out more than 3,000 artillery strikes on Ukrainian military positions and civilian areas.
Frontline situation
In the Kharkiv direction, the enemy carried out eight unsuccessful assaults in the areas of Vovchansk and Starytsia.
In the Kupiansk direction, the Russian army launched offensives near six settlements. Ukrainian defenders repelled eight enemy attacks, while five more are still ongoing.
In the Lyman direction, the enemy attacked Defense Forces' positions 23 times, with two clashes still underway.
In the Siversk direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled one assault by Russian forces near the village of Vyimka.
In the Kramatorsk direction, with air support, the enemy attacked Ukrainian positions near Chasiv Yar and Predtechyne. The Defense Forces successfully stopped both assaults.
In the Pokrovsk direction, the enemy has launched 43 attacks since the beginning of the day. Ukrainian defenders repelled 36 assaults, with seven clashes still ongoing.
Today, 289 Russian soldiers have been neutralized, including 126 killed in action. Additionally, one tank, four armored combat vehicles, two cars, and two artillery systems were destroyed.
In the Kurakhove direction, the enemy attempted to breach Ukrainian defenses 26 times near seven settlements. Eighteen engagements have been resolved, with eight continuing.
In this direction, 61 Russian soldiers were neutralized, along with one armored combat vehicle and a car destroyed.
In the Vremivka direction, the enemy attacked Ukrainian units five times, but all attempts were repelled.
In the Orikhiv direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled four attacks in the areas of Novodanylivka and Novoandriivka. The situation remains under control.
In the Prydniprovskyi direction, the Russian forces made three unsuccessful attempts to dislodge Defense Forces units from their positions, suffering losses and retreating.
