Russia-Ukraine war: Frontline update as of October 23

Since the beginning of the day, there have been 132 combat clashes on the front. The Russian forces launched over 610 strikes with kamikaze drones and carried out approximately 3,000 shelling attacks on positions, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
According to the General Staff, since the beginning of the day, the enemy has launched one missile strike using a missile and conducted 73 aviation strikes with 117 guided bombs.

Additionally, one armored personnel carrier, one infantry fighting vehicle, four vehicles, two motorcycles, three drone antennas, one gun, and one mortar have been destroyed. Furthermore, two armored personnel carriers, one armored fighting vehicle, one car, one MT-LB, and one enemy mortar were damaged.
Situation at the frontlines
Seven combat engagements with Russian forces took place in the Kharkiv direction. Five attacks in the areas of Vovchansk and Tykhe were repelled by Ukrainian troops, and two more are ongoing.
In the Kupiansk direction, the enemy tried nine times to push Ukrainian units out of their positions near Pishchane, Kruhliakivka, Stepova Novoselivka, Lozova, Vyshneve and Pershotravneve. Two attacks are still ongoing.
The enemy attacked 12 times in the Lyman direction, trying to advance towards Hrekivka, Terny, Novomykhailivka, Torske and Serebrianka. Ukrainian troops managed to repel eight of the enemy's attacks, four more are ongoing, and the situation is under control.
Five combat engagements took place in the Kramatorsk direction. Russian troops were active in the areas of Stupochky, Bila Hora and Hryhorivka, all enemy attempts to improve their position were stopped by Ukrainian troops.
The enemy tried to break into the Ukrainian line in the Toretsk direction four times. Since the beginning of the day, the Russian forces have faced strong resistance from Ukrainian defenders three times in the areas of Toretsk and Nelipivka. One attack is still ongoing.
At this time of day, there are 30 combat engagements in the Kurakhove direction. The Russian army remains highly active, trying to advance in the areas of Katerynivka, Antonivka, Novodmytrivka, Kreminna Balka, Zoriane, Hostre and Dalne. Ukrainian Defense Forces units repelled 26 enemy attacks, four attacks are still ongoing.
Five firefights took place in the Vremivka direction. All enemy attacks were stopped in the areas of Bohoiavlenka, Novoukrainka and Zolota Niva.
In the Orikhiv direction, one unsuccessful enemy attack was repelled by Ukrainian defenders during the day near Novodanylivka.
In the Prydniprovskyi direction, Ukrainian soldiers repelled four attacks by the Russian army.
The Ukrainian Defense Forces are continuing operations in the Kursk region. Enemy aircraft continue to strike with guided aerial bombs on the territory of Russia. At present, there are 27 known air strikes with the use of 21 guided aerial bombs.
There have been no significant changes in the situation in other directions.

According to the General Staff, over the past day, the Defense Forces have eliminated another 1,460 Russian soldiers.
