Russia-Ukraine war: Frontline update as of October 15

Since the beginning of the day, 164 combat engagements have taken place on the frontline. The highest number of battles occurred in the Pokrovsk and Kurakhove directions. In the Kurakhove direction, Russian forces made 40 attempts to breach Ukrainian defenses, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
In the Kharkiv direction, Russian forces unsuccessfully attempted to storm Ukrainian positions near Vovchansk and Starytsia. Meanwhile, enemy aircraft attacked the settlement of Mali Prokhody with guided bombs.
In the Kupiansk direction, Russian forces conducted offensive operations near Kucherivka, Novoosynove, Hrushivka, Pishchane, Hlushkivka, Lozova, Kruhliakivka, Petropavlivka, Kolisnykivka, and Vyshneve. Nineteen battles have ended, and seven are ongoing.
In the Lyman direction, Russian forces stormed Ukrainian positions 16 times near Hrekivka, Makiivka, Nevske, Zarichne, and Torske. Ukrainian defenders repelled all enemy attacks.
In the Kramatorsk direction, the enemy launched three assaults on Ukrainian positions near Kalynivka, Stupochky, and Predtechyne.
In the Toretsk direction, Russian forces carried out nine assault operations with the support of bomber aircraft. They attacked Ukrainian positions near Toretsk, Dachne, and Shcherbynivka. All Russian attacks were repelled.
In the Pokrovsk direction, Russian forces have attacked 25 times in the areas of Novotroitske, Myroliubivka, Promin, Krasnyi Yar, Selydove, and Krutyi Yar since the beginning of the day. Ukrainian defenders repelled 24 attacks, and one engagement is still ongoing.
In the Kurakhove direction, the enemy also made 40 attempts to breach Ukrainian defenses near Kreminna Balka, Novodmytrivka, Tsukuryne, Novoselydivka, Heorhiivka, Kostiantynivka, Antonivka, and Katerynivka. Thirty-two combat engagements have concluded, and two are still ongoing.
In the Vremivka direction, the enemy twice attempted to dislodge Ukrainian units from their defensive positions near Rozdolne and Bohoyavlenka.
In the Orikhiv direction, one combat engagement occurred near Mala Tokmachka.
In the Prydniprovskyi direction, Ukrainian forces stopped five Russian attempts to attack Ukrainian positions.
There have been no significant changes in the other directions.
It is worth noting that an evacuation of residents from three communities in the Kharkiv region, including the city of Kupiansk, has been announced.
