Since the beginning of the day, on October 7, there have been 88 military clashes on the front. The hottest areas currently are the Lyman, Kupiansk, Pokrovsk, and Kurakhove directions, according to the General Staff.

Russian shelling

Russian forces continue to use aviation and artillery against border areas in the Sumy region.

Artillery strikes have hit the areas around the settlements of Buniakino, Pavlovka, Uhroidy, Stepok, and Pokrovka. Airstrikes targeted Yablonovka, Yekaterinovka, and Obody. Currently, the enemy has dropped ten guided bombs on the region.

Reportedly, Russian aviation carried out twelve strikes on the territory of the Kursk region, using 16 guided aerial bombs.

Situation on the frontlines

In the Kharkiv direction, Russian forces attempted to assault Ukrainian positions near Starytsya and Vovchansk, but all enemy attacks have been repelled.

The enemy launched 15 attacks on Ukrainian positions in the Kupiansk direction, targeting the settlements of Synkivka, Novoselivka, Hlushkovka, Lozova, and Kruhliakovka. Five attacks were repelled by defense forces, and ten combat clashes are ongoing.

In the Lyman direction, the enemy is trying to advance near Makiivka, Hrekivka, Nevske, Novosadove, Torske, and in the Serebryansky forest. So far, there have been 16 combat engagements in this area since the beginning of the day, with 11 still ongoing. The Russian forces used unguided air-to-surface missiles to strike Tverdokhlibove and the Serebryanske forestry.

In the Kramatorsk direction, the Russian troops carried out one assault action near Stupochky. The enemy is actively using aviation, conducting strikes with unguided missiles in the Chasiv Yar area.

In the Toretsk direction, the number of enemy attacks has increased to eight. With the support of bomber aviation, the enemy is attempting to attack near the settlements of Toretsk, Dyliivka, and Nelipivka, where Ukrainian defenders repelled three attacks, and five combat clashes are still ongoing.

The Russian army is attacking Ukrainian defenders in the Pokrovsk direction. Over the course of the day, it carried out 13 attacks in the areas of Novotoretsk, Kalynove, Lysivka, Krutyi Yar, Novohrodivka and Mykolaivka. The defense forces are holding back the onslaught and repelled 12 enemy attacks, with one battle still ongoing. Oleksandropil was attacked with unguided aerial missiles, and the Russian forces dropped bombs on Tarasivka and Myrnohrad.

In the Kurakhove direction, the Russian troops attacked Ukrainian units 19 times since the beginning of the day. They tried to advance near Tsukuryne, Zhelannyi Druhe, Hirnyk, Novoselydivka, Hostre, Heorhiivka and Katerynivka, and fighting is currently ongoing in eight locations.

In the Vremivka direction, Ukrainian troops repelled two attacks towards Bohoyavlenka. The enemy launched an air strike with unguided aerial missiles near Pryiutne.

In the Orikhiv direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled two enemy attacks near Robotyne. The enemy also used bomber aircraft to attack Mala Tokmachka and Orikhove.

In the Prydniprovskyi direction, three attacks by the Russian army were unsuccessful. Today, enemy aircraft attacked Kherson, dropping four guided aerial bombs.

“There were no significant changes in other frontline areas,” the General Staff added.

Situation at the front and Russian losses

According to the General Staff, 141 combat engagements were recorded at the frontline over the past day, October 6. The most intense fighting took place in the Pokrovsk and Kurakhove directions.

Russian troops lost 1160 soldiers over the last day. Ukrainian defenders also destroyed 14 tanks, 31 armored vehicles, 64 artillery systems, seven multiple launch rocket systems and other enemy equipment.
