As of 10:00 p.m. on October 6 (Kyiv time), 99 combat clashes were recorded on the frontlines throughout the day. Most attacks were concentrated in the Pokrovsk, Lyman, and Toretsk directions, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Enemy shelling

Today, Russian troops launched 6 missile strikes, 72 airstrikes (including 94 guided aerial bombs), and 653 kamikaze drone attacks. They also carried out 3,417 shelling incidents targeting Ukrainian forces.

Frontline situation

In the Kharkiv direction, near Starytsia and Vovchansk, Russian forces attempted to storm Ukrainian positions five times.

"Estimated enemy losses in this area amounted to 58 Russian forces killed and wounded, with 14 artillery systems, 33 UAVs, ten vehicles, and three units of special equipment destroyed," the report stated.

In the Kupiansk direction, eleven Russian assaults occurred against Ukrainian defenses near Kucherivka, Kruhliakivka, Vyshneve, and Novoosynove. At this time, clashes continue in three locations.

In the Lyman direction, Russian forces attacked Ukrainian positions 18 times near the settlements of Druzheliubivka, Nevske, Novosadove, Zarichne, Torske, Hrekivka, Hryhorivka, and Dibrova over the past day. Three attacks are still ongoing.

In the Siversk direction, Ukrainian forces stopped the enemy’s attempt to improve its tactical position near Bilohorivka.

In the Kramatorsk direction, Russian forces' nine attempts to advance failed near Chasiv Yar, Stupochky, and Bila Hora.

In the Toretsk direction, the enemy’s assault and bomber aviation were highly active. Russian forces stormed the areas around Toretsk and Shcherbynivka 17 times.

In the Pokrovsk direction, the enemy continues intense attacks on Ukrainian defenders. There were 19 assaults and offensive actions in total throughout the day. The highest level of Russian forces' activity was observed in the Myrnohrad, Lysivka, Krutyi Yar, Novotroitske, Promin, Petrivka, and Selydove areas. Nine clashes are still ongoing in this direction.

"According to preliminary estimates, today, Ukrainian forces eliminated 126 and wounded 157 Russian forces. Three tanks, three armored fighting vehicles, three guns, three command-and-control posts, two UAVs, and ten vehicles were destroyed. Additionally, two tanks, four armored vehicles, seven enemy vehicles, and five artillery systems were damaged," the General Staff reported.

In the Kurakhove direction, 17 combat clashes are currently taking place. Russian forces tried to advance in the areas of Novoselydivka, Hirnyk, Tsukuryne, Hostre, Heorhiivka, Zhelanne Druhe, Oleksandrivka, and Kostiantynivka, with seven ongoing battles.

In the Vremivka direction, a battle is also ongoing near Bohoyavlenka. So far, Russian forces have attempted seven assaults using attack aircraft along the frontline in the direction of Yasna Poliana and Zolota Nyva.

In the Prydniprovskyi direction, six enemy attacks were repelled without success.

The Ukrainian Defense Forces' operation in Russia’s Kursk region continues. The enemy launched 15 airstrikes on Kursk throughout the day, using 21 guided bombs.

No significant changes were reported in the situation on other fronts.

"Today, we commend the Ukrainian warriors from the 55th Separate Artillery Brigade Zaporizhzhia Sich, the 68th Separate Yeger Brigade named after Oleksa Dovbush, and the 3rd Separate Assault Brigade for their steadfast defense against the enemy's overwhelming forces," added the General Staff.

As a reminder, 169 combat engagements were recorded in the frontline over the last day, October 5.

Additionally, from October 5 to 6, enemy losses amounted to 1,250 soldiers. Ukrainian Defense Forces also destroyed 55 artillery systems and 49 operational-tactical level UAVs.
