Russia's losses in Ukraine as of October 6: +1250 soldiers, over 100 vehicles and 55 artillery systems
On October 5, Ukrainian Armed Forces eliminated 1,250 Russian troops on the frontlines. They also managed to destroy 101 vehicles and 55 artillery systems, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The total combat Russian losses from February 24, 2022, to October 6, 2024, are estimated to be:
- personnel - about 650 470 (+1250) Russian troops were eliminated;
- tanks - 8919 (+3);
- troop-carrying AFVs - 17 679 (+21);
- artillery systems - 19 092 (+55);
- MLRS - 1216 (+4);
- anti-aircraft systems - 970 (+5);
- aircraft - 368;
- helicopters - 328;
- UAV operational-tactical level - 16 578 (+49);
- cruise missiles - 2613;
- warships/boats - 28;
- submarines - 1;
- vehicles and fuel tanks - 26 006 (+101);
- special equipment - 3363 (+19).
Situation on the frontline
On the Pokrovsk direction, Russian forces attacked Ukrainian positions 28 times over the past day, with one battle still ongoing as of 10 p.m. On the Kurakhove direction, 26 attacks were launched, and three clashes were reported.
According to the Institute for the Study of War, Russian troops have recently advanced at the main Ukrainian salient in the Kursk region. Additionally, Russian forces made gains in Toretsk, towards Pokrovsk, and southwest of Donetsk.
