“The operation in the Kursk region continues, where Russian occupants are mercilessly shelling and bombing their towns and villages,” the General Staff added.

Situation in Chasiv Yar

Chasiv Yar is the next town after Bakhmut, and active hostilities have been going on there for a long time. Recently, the 24th Brigade named after King Danylo stated that the Russian forces allegedly control 40% of the town.

Later, the brigade's press service clarified that the information was not true. The Russian army seized the part of the town that is close to the Siverskyi Donets-Donbas canal.

The Ukrainian Armed Forces also explain that Chasiv Yar is an outpost that does not allow Russian troops to storm the southern flank. To the south are the towns of Pokrovsk and Toretsk.
