The Ukrainian military is continuously holding back the offensive of the enemy's superior forces in all directions, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

According to the General Staff, Russia continues to destroy civilian infrastructure in Ukrainian cities and villages. As of now, the number of combat engagements has increased to 103, with the hottest spots in the Pokrovsk direction.

The Defense Forces continue operations in the Kursk region. According to the updated information, enemy aviation has carried out 26 attacks on its territory today, using 44 guided bombs.

Situation at the frontlines

In total, one combat engagement took place in the Kharkiv direction since the beginning of the day. Ukrainian troops successfully repelled an attack near Vovchansk.

In the Kupiansk direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled eight enemy attacks near Novoosynove, Hlushkivka and Stelmakhivka. Two more attacks continue near Synkivka and Andriivka. Moreover, the enemy dropped 12 guided bombs on Kolisnykivka today.

In the Lyman direction, the enemy attacked 12 times in the areas of Makiivka, Hrekivka, Druzheliubivka, Nevske, Novosadove and Torske. Seven combat engagements are over, attacks continue near Proletarske, Hrekivka and Nevske.

Five firefights took place in the Siversk direction during the day. The enemy attacked near Spirne, Verkhniokamianske and Vyimka but was met with a strong resistance.

In the Kramatorsk direction, since the beginning of the day, Russian troops have twice tried to push Ukrainian units from their positions near Chasiv Yar, but the attacks were repelled. Hryhorivka and Chasiv Yar came under attack from unguided aerial missiles.

In the Toretsk direction, the enemy, supported by attack aircraft, attacked Ukrainian positions seven times. The situation is under control.

The situation in the Pokrovsk direction remains tense. Fierce fighting is taking place in the areas of Kalynove, Vozdvyzhenka, Novooleksandrivka, Panteleimonivka, Zelene Pole, Myroliubivka, Hrodivka, Novohrodivka, Memryk, Mykhailivka and Karlivka. So far, the enemy has made 38 attempts to assault Ukrainian positions. In 14 locations, combat engagements are still ongoing.

In the Kurakhove direction, the enemy attacked Ukrainian units eleven times since the beginning of the day. They tried to advance near Krasnohorivka, Hostre, Heorhiivka and Kostiantynivka. Ukrainian troops stopped nine attacks, and fighting continues in three locations.

The Russian army has intensified its activity in the Vremivka direction, where three enemy assaults towards Vuhledar and Vodiane have been repelled so far, and 13 enemy attacks continue in the direction of Prechystivka, Bohoyavlenka and Novoukrainka. Enemy aircraft attacked the area of Yehorivka with unguided missiles.

The Russian forces made one unsuccessful attempt to storm the positions of Ukrainian troops during the day in the island area in the Prydniprovskyi direction. The enemy also launched air strikes near the settlements of Tiahynka, Tokarivka and Sadove, dropping ten bombs.

The enemy did not conduct offensive actions in the Orikhiv and Huliaipole directions. They are constantly shelling the positions of Ukrainian troops and settlements.

As of the morning of August 26, the Russians lost 1140 soldiers, an air defense system and 47 artillery systems at the front. In particular, 146 combat engagements were recorded at the front yesterday. Russian troops continue to fire missiles at Ukrainian military positions and settlements.
