Russia-Ukraine war: Frontline update as of August 26
Over the past day, 146 clashes were recorded on Russia-Ukraine frontline. Russian troops continue to fire missiles at the positions of the Ukrainian military and at populated areas, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The enemy launched 88 air strikes, using 142 guided aerial bombs. Russian troops carried out 4,335 attacks, 121 of which were from multiple launch rocket systems.
Russian air strikes were recorded, in particular in the areas of Svesa, Druzhba, Pervomaiske, Stepanivka, Esman, Studenok, Yastrubyne, Kozacha Lopan, Hryhorivka, Chasiv Yar, Toretsk, Druzhba, Oleksandropil, Novohrodivka, Halytsynivka, Ukrainske, Hannivka, Vuhledar, Zherebianky and Tokarivka.
Ukrainian aviation, missile forces, and artillery struck 8 times at the areas of concentration of Russian personnel and weapons.
Russian air defense was hit 4 times yesterday, 3 times by missile and artillery systems, and the Ukrainian military also hit the enemy's Zhitel electronic warfare station.
In the Kharkiv sector, four hostile attacks were registered in the vicinity of Lyptsi and Vovchansk.
In the Kupiansk sector, the enemy conducted 15 attacks on Ukrainian positions near Petropavlivka, Synkivka, Kolisnykivka, Hlushkivka, Stelmakhivka, and in the direction of Lozova.
In the Lyman sector, Russian troops attacked 21 times, trying to advance near 7 different settlements. The enemy made the main efforts in the area of Nevske, where it conducted 9 assaults.
In the Siversk sector, Ukrainian troops repelled 7 attacks near Spirne, Verkhnekamianske, Vyimka, Bilohorivka, and Ivanodaryivka.
In the Kramatorsk sector, the enemy attacked 13 times near Stupochky, Ivanivske, Andriivka, Hryhorivka, Klishchiivka, and, most actively, in the area of Chasiv Yar.
In the Toretsk sector, Russian troops, supported by aviation, carried out 7 attacks near Nelipivka and Toretsk.
In the Pokrovsk sector, 42 enemy assault and offensive actions towards the settlements of Sukha Balka, Vozdvyzhenka, Novooleksandrivka, Zelene Pole, Myroliubivka, Kalynove, Marynivka and Novohrodivka were stopped. Almost half of the enemy attacks took place in the area of the latter. Novohrodivka was attacked twice by Russian aerial missiles.
In the Kurakhove sector, Ukrainian defenders repelled 20 enemy attacks near Karlivka, Nevelske, Pervomaiske, Heorhiivka, Mykhailivka, and Kostiantynivka.
In the Vremivka sector, according to the updated information of the General Staff, Russian occupants carried out 10 assaults on Ukrainian positions near Vodiane, Kostiantynivka, and Vuhledar.
In the Prydniprovskyi sector, the Russians attacked Ukrainian positions twice but received a fierce rebuff and retreated after suffering losses. The enemy bombed the Tokarivka area with 5 GABs.
There were no signs of enemy offensive groups forming in the Volyn and Polissia directions.
However, on the border of the Sumy region, the Russian army continues to actively use guided aerial bombs in the areas of Ukrainian settlements. Russian unmanned aerial vehicles are also exploding in the Kursk region of Russia, where the operation of Ukrainian troops continues.
The General Staff reminded that the losses of the Russian troops amounted to 1,140 over the past day.
As a reminder, Russia reported repulsing a drone attack and a UAV crash on the houses of Saratov and Engels.
Russia's massive attack on Ukrainian regions, which began on the morning of August 26, continues. Explosions are heard in Kyiv, Kharkiv, Dnipro, and other cities.
