Russia-Ukraine war: Frontline update as of August 6

Over the past day, August 5, 133 combat engagements took place on the frontline. One-third of the fighting occurred in the Pokrovsk sector, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
"Yesterday (August 5 - ed.), the aviation and missile forces and artillery of the Ukrainian Defense Forces struck two Russian UAV control points, two areas of concentration of personnel and weapons, and another important enemy object," the General Staff writes.
Sectors
5 combat engagements took place in the Kharkiv sector. The fighting took place near the towns of Vovchansk and Tykhe.
Russian troops attacked seven times in the Kupiansk sector. The main efforts were made in Petropavlivka, Berestove, and Stelmakhivka.
In the Lyman sector, 10 Russian attacks were repelled near Makiivka, Terny, Nevsky, and in the Serebryanske forestry.
In the Siversk sector, 13 Russian attacks were repelled near Ivano-Daryivka, Verkhniokamianske, Pereizne, and Vyimka.
In the Kramatorsk sector, 13 Russian attempts to break through Ukrainian defenses in the areas of Chasiv Yar and Ivanivske in the Donetsk region were stopped.
In the Toretsk sector, the Russians attacked 26 times near the settlements of Pivnichne, Toretsk, and New York.
In the Pokrovsk sector, 41 Russian attacks were repelled in the areas of Panteleimonivka, Novooleksandrivka, Vozdvyzhenka, Ivanivka, Zhelanne, Novoselivka Persha and Yasnobrodivka in the Donetsk region.
In the Kurakhove sector, Russia attacked 7 times in the areas of Krasnohorivka, Heorhiivka, and Kostiantynivka.
In the Vremivka sector, Russia attacked Ukrainian positions near Vodiane and Rozdolne in the Donetsk region 4 times.
In the Orikhiv sector, Russians attacked once in the direction of Robotyne.
In the Prydniprovskyi sector, the Ukrainian Defense Forces successfully repelled 6 Russian attacks on Ukrainian positions.
Russia's losses in war against Ukraine
Also over the past day, Russia's losses in manpower amounted to 1,050 soldiers. In particular, the Ukrainian Defense Forces destroyed 4 tanks, 8 armored combat vehicles, 39 artillery systems, and more.
