The situation on the front lines as of the morning of July 28 remains tense. The most active areas of the front are the Pokrovsk and Toretsk directions, reports the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

In the past day, 129 combat engagements were recorded in all directions. Over the day, the aviation, missile forces, and artillery of the Defense Forces carried out 15 strikes on areas where enemy personnel were concentrated, as well as hit an artillery system, a radar station, and two air defense systems.

In the Kharkiv direction, the enemy continued offensive (assault) actions, with a total of nine combat engagements. Fighting took place in the areas of the settlements of Hlyboke, Tykhe, and Vovchansk in the Kharkiv region.

In the Kupiansk direction, three combat engagements were recorded in the past day. The Defense Forces repelled enemy attacks in the Synkivka area of the Kharkiv region.

In the Lyman direction, Ukrainian forces repelled 14 enemy attacks in the areas of Novoserhiivka in the Kharkiv region, Makiivka, Nevske in the Luhansk region; and Terny in the Donetsk region.

In the Siversk direction, the Defense Forces repelled eight attacks in the areas of the settlements of Verkhnokamianske and Spirne.

In the Kramatorsk direction, Ukrainian defenders stopped six attempts by the enemy to break through the defense of our defenders in the areas of Ivanivske and Andriivka in the Donetsk region.

The enemy attempted to penetrate the defense of the Armed Forces of Ukraine 28 times in the Toretsk direction in the areas of the settlements of Pivnichne, Toretsk, New York, and Zalizne.

In the Pokrovsk direction, defenders repelled 29 attacks in the areas of the settlements of Novooleksandrivka, Vesele, Serhiivka, Yasnobrodivka, Vozdvyzhenka, Tymofiivka, Novoselivka Persha, and Kalynove, where the enemy tried to dislodge Ukrainian units from their positions.

In the Kurakhove direction, the Defense Forces continue to hold back the enemy in the areas of the settlements of Krasnohorivka, Heorhiivka, and Paraskoviivka, where the enemy tried to break through our troops' defense 18 times.

In the Vremivka direction, the enemy made seven unsuccessful attempts to break through our troops' defense in the direction of the settlements of Kostiantynivka and Rozdolne in the Donetsk region.

In the Orikhiv direction, there were four combat engagements in the area of Mala Tokmachka and Novoandriivka in the Zaporizhzhia region.

In the Prydniprovskyi direction, the enemy is attempting to attack Ukrainian positions in the island zone. Over the past day, they made three unsuccessful attacks on Defense Forces positions.

On the border with the Chernihiv and Sumy regions, the enemy maintains a military presence, conducts sabotage and reconnaissance activities, shells settlements from Russian territory, and increases the density of mine-explosive barriers along the state border of Ukraine.

Enemy losses

In the past day, Ukrainian forces destroyed dozens of units of Russian equipment. Additionally, the Armed Forces of Ukraine eliminated nearly 1,200 occupiers.

Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Russia has lost more than 574,000 soldiers.

According to estimates by the British army, it will take Russia about five years to capture four regions of Ukraine. In doing so, Moscow could lose up to 1.8 million military personnel.
