On June 16, the situation remains tense on the Pokrovsk direction. Specifically, since the beginning of the day, the enemy has assaulted Ukrainian Armed Forces positions 18 times in this area, according to the data from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as of 10:00.

Particularly, Russians have attempted to breach Ukrainian Armed Forces' defensive positions near Novooleksandrivka, Yevhenivka, Sokil, and Umanske a total of 18 times today.

"Nine attacks repelled by Ukrainian defense units, with an equal number ongoing. The situation is tense. Ukrainian forces are taking measures to stabilize the situation and prevent further advancement of the Russian aggressor into our territory," the statement reads.

Situation in other directions

In the Kharkiv direction, enemy attempts to attack Ukrainian defense units near Vovchansk have been unsuccessful. According to updated information, Russian losses in the past day in this direction amounted to over 180 personnel killed and wounded, with one armored vehicle destroyed, along with two artillery systems and four vehicles.

Similarly, there was no success in the assault of Russian troops in the Lyman direction, with no loss of positions.

Activity from the enemy is evident in the Siversk direction, where five skirmishes have occurred since the start of the day. Near Rozdolivka and Verkhniokamianske, Ukrainian defenders repelled attacks. Enemy activity persists in the Rozdolivka area, with three ongoing skirmishes.

In the Kurakhiv direction, assaults by occupiers near Paraskoviivka were repelled, and another battle continues near Krasnohorivka. The situation is under control of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, with no success for the enemy. According to updated information, Russian losses in the past day on this direction amounted to 85 personnel killed and wounded, with one armored vehicle and three vehicles destroyed.

In the Vremivka direction, seven enemy attempts near Vodiane and Urozhaine did not succeed. There were no losses of positions.

Additionally, two assault actions by Russian occupiers near Mala Tokmachka and Robotyne in the Orikhiv direction were unsuccessful.

Russian losses in Ukraine

From June 10 to June 16, Russia lost nearly 8,000 military personnel in Ukraine. Additionally, two modern Su-57 aircraft were shot down.

Regarding the personnel of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, thanks to the "elastic" defensive strategy deployed on the frontlines in recent months, Ukraine has managed to buy time and save lives.

According to the Ministry of Defense, since the beginning of 2024, Russia's artillery advantage on the frontlines has significantly decreased, while the Ukrainian Armed Forces require significantly more resources.
