Russia-Ukraine war: Frontline update as of February 26

Ukrainian military repelled 25 enemy attacks on the Avdiivka front, held positions, and thwarted assaults by occupation forces on the Kherson front. Aviation targeted and destroyed 2 enemy anti-aircraft missile systems, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Russian attacks
Over the past 24 hours, there were 95 clashes, with the enemy conducting 11 missile and 98 aerial strikes, along with 129 barrages from rocket artillery on our military positions and civilian areas.
Unfortunately, due to Russian terrorist attacks, there are casualties and fatalities among the civilian population. Multi-story buildings, private homes, and other civil infrastructure have been destroyed or damaged.
Airstrikes occurred in the following locations:
- Yamne, Nova Sich, the Sumy region;
- Vesele, Kostiantynivka, Kurdiumivka, Maiorsk, Pivnichne, Zalizne, New York, Ocheretyne, Zhelanne, Berdychiv, Lastochkyne, Yasnobrodivka, Netailove, Umanske, Vodiane, Paraskoviivka, Ocheretyne, Novomykhailivka, Volodymyrivka, Urozhainе, Staromayorske in the Donetsk region;
- Malynivka, Orikhiv, Mala Tokmachka, Robotyne in the Zaporizhia region.
Over 110 settlements in the Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Dnipropetrovsk, Kherson, and Mykolaiv regions were under artillery fire.
Situation at the frontlines
In the Volyn and Polissia directions, the operational situation remains unchanged.
In the Siversk and Slobozhanske directions, the enemy maintains a military presence in border areas, actively conducts sabotage activities to prevent the redeployment of our troops to threatening directions, and increases the density of mine-explosive barriers along the state border in the Belgorod region.
In the Kupiansk direction, 6 enemy attacks near the settlements of Synkivka and Tabaiivka in the Kharkiv region were repelled.
In the Lyman direction, our forces repelled 5 enemy attacks in the areas near the settlements of Terny in the Donetsk region and Bilohorivka in the Luhansk region.
In the Bakhmut direction, the defense forces repelled 8 enemy attacks in the areas near the settlements of Ivanivske and Klyshchiivka in the Donetsk region.
In the Avdiivka direction, our defenders repelled 25 enemy attacks in the areas near the settlements of Severne, Stepove, Berdychiv, Lastochkyne, and Nevelske in the Donetsk region.
In the Maryinka direction, the defense forces continue to hold back the enemy in the areas near the settlements of Novomykhailivka, Heorhiivka, Pobieda, and Krasnohorivka in the Donetsk region, where the enemy attempted to break through our troops' defense 40 times.
In the Novopavlivka direction, the enemy did not conduct offensive (assault) operations.
In the Zaporizhzhia direction, the defense forces repelled 6 enemy attacks in the area near the settlement of Robotyne and 1 in the area near the settlement of Huliaypilske in the Zaporizhzhia region.
In the Kherson direction, the defense forces continue to hold positions and repel assaults by occupation forces. Despite significant losses, the enemy persists in trying to dislodge our units from their occupied positions.
During the past day, the enemy attempted 4 unsuccessful assaults on the positions of our forces on the left bank of the Dnipro River
Enemy losses
During the day, the defense aviation struck 7 personnel concentration areas and 2 enemy anti-aircraft missile complexes.
Rocket forces units targeted and inflicted damage on 3 enemy artillery positions.
It should be noted that the total number of losses in the Russian army since the beginning of the invasion is 409,820 military personnel.
