Russia-Ukraine war: Frontline update as of February 21

Over the past day, there have been 66 combat clashes. In total, the enemy launched 5 missiles and 125 aviation strikes, as well as 124 artillery attacks using multiple rocket launchers on the positions of our troops and civilian settlements.

Unfortunately, due to Russian terrorist attacks, there are casualties among the civilian population. Multistory and private houses, as well as other objects of civilian infrastructure, have been destroyed and damaged.

The following locations were hit by airstrikes:

• Hrachivka, Chuhunivka, Fedorivka, Katerynivka, Shevchenkove, Ivanivka, Hlushkivka, Stepova Novoselivka, Pishchane in the Kharkiv region;
• Bilohorivka in the Luhansk region;
• Vesele, Rozdolivka, Chasiv Yar, Oleksandrivka, Ocheretyne, Orlivka, Lastochkyne, Tonenke, Novomykhailivka, Vodiane, Urozhaine, Staromaiorske in the Donetsk region;
• Mala Tokmachka, Robotyne, Novodanylivka in the Zaporizhzhia region;
• Sablukivka in the Kherson region.

Additionally, over 110 settlements in Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Dnipropetrovsk, Kherson, and Mykolaiv regions came under artillery fire.

Frontline situation

In the Volyn and Polissia directions, the operational situation remains relatively unchanged.

In the Siversk and Slobozhanske directions, the enemy maintains military presence in border areas, conducts subversive activities to prevent the transfer of our troops to threatened directions, and increases the density of mine-explosive barriers along the state border in the Belgorod region.

In the Kupiansk direction, the enemy made 2 unsuccessful attempts to advance in the area of Synkivka, Kharkiv region.

In the Lyman direction, the enemy attacked our units near Bilohorivka, Luhansk region, and Terniv and Vyimka, Donetsk region, 8 times.

In the Bakhmut direction, the Defense Forces repelled 2 enemy attacks near Ivanivka, Donetsk region.

In the Avdiivka direction, our defenders repelled 13 enemy attacks in the areas of Stepove, Lastochkyne, Sieverne, and Nevelske, Donetsk region.

In the Maryinka direction, the Defense Forces continue to hold back the enemy near Heorhiivka, Pobieda, and Novomykhailivka, Donetsk region. Here, the occupiers made 20 attempts to break through the defense of our troops.

In the Novopavlivka direction, the enemy tried 7 times to improve its tactical position south of Prechystivka and Zolota Nyva, Donetsk region.

In the Zaporizhzhia direction, the Defense Forces repelled 7 enemy attacks near Mala Tokmachka and Robotyne, Zaporizhzhia region.

In the Kherson direction, Ukrainian soldiers continue to hold positions and repel attacks by occupation forces. Despite significant losses, the enemy continues to attempt to dislodge our units from their positions. During the past day, the enemy made 1 unsuccessful assault.

At the same time, our soldiers continue active operations to inflict losses on occupation forces in personnel and equipment, exhausting the enemy along the entire front line.

Enemy losses

During the past day, the Defense Forces aviation struck 10 areas of concentration of enemy personnel and 5 anti-aircraft missile systems.

The missile forces units struck 9 areas of concentration of personnel, weapons, and military equipment, 1 fuel and lubricants depot, and 12 enemy artillery pieces.

It should be noted that the total number of losses of the Russian army since the beginning of the invasion is 404,950 military personnel.
