Russia-Ukraine war: Frontline update as of January 14

Ukraine witnessed 61 military clashes on the front lines within a day. The enemy is actively attempting to storm and capture new territories in the Donetsk region, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Russian attacks
Overall, the enemy launched 32 missile and 91 aviation strikes, carrying out 82 bombardments from reactive volley fire systems on the positions of our troops and populated areas. Unfortunately, there are casualties and injuries among the civilian population due to Russian terrorist attacks. Residential buildings and other civilian infrastructure have suffered damage and destruction.
The following locations were subjected to aviation strikes: Vovchansk, Vesele, Pishchane, and Ivanivka in the Kharkiv region; Nevske, Bilohorivka, Serebrianske Forestry in the Luhansk region; Kolodyazi, Terny, Bohdanivka, Hryhorivka, Keramik, Tonenke, Avdiivka, Ocheretyne, Novomykhailivka, Vodyane in the Donetsk region; Novoandriivka in the Zaporizhzhia region; Chervonyi Mayak, Zmiivka, Beryslav, Shliakhove in the Kherson region.
Over 120 populated areas in the Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Dnipropetrovsk, Kherson, and Mykolaiv regions came under artillery fire.
Situation at the frontlines
In the Volyn and Polissia directions, the operational situation remains unchanged.
In the Siversk and Slobozhanske directions, the enemy maintains a military presence in border areas, actively conducts sabotage activities to prevent the redeployment of our forces to threatened directions, and increases the density of mine-explosive obstacles along the state border in the Belgorod region.
In the Kupiansk direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled four enemy attacks near Synkivka in the Kharkiv region.
In the Lyman direction, the Defense Forces repelled four attacks by occupiers in the areas of Makiivka in the Luhansk region and Terniv in the Donetsk region.
In the Bakhmut direction, our soldiers repelled two enemy attacks near Klyshchiivka and Andriivka in the Donetsk region.
In the Avdiivka direction, Ukrainian defenders continue to restrain the enemy, who does not cease attempts to encircle Avdiivka. Our soldiers resiliently maintain the defense, inflicting significant losses on the invaders. During the past day, the Defense Forces repelled 5 enemy attacks in the areas of Novobakhmutivka and Avdiivka, and another 15 attacks near Severne, Pervomaiske, and Nevelske in the Donetsk region.
In the Maryinka direction, defenders continue to restrain the enemy near Krasnohorivka and Novomykhailivka in the Donetsk region, where 17 attacks were repelled.
In the Shakhtarsk direction, defenders repelled 4 enemy attacks south of Prechystivka, west of Staromykhailivka, and south of Rivnopil in the Donetsk region.
In the Zaporizhzhia direction, the Defense Forces repelled 2 enemy attacks in the area of Robotyne in the Zaporizhzhia region.
In the Kherson direction, the Defense Forces continue efforts to expand the foothold. Despite significant losses, the enemy does not abandon attempts to dislodge our units from the occupied positions. During the past day, the enemy carried out 5 unsuccessful assault attempts on the positions of Ukrainian defenders.
Enemy losses
During the past day, the Air Force conducted strikes on 11 areas of concentration of personnel, weaponry, and military equipment of the enemy. Additionally, using air defense assets, 7 cruise missiles (Kh-101/Kh-555/Kh-55) and one guided aviation missile (Kh-59) were destroyed.
Units of the missile forces targeted 3 areas of concentration of personnel, weaponry, and military equipment, 9 artillery units, 4 air defense assets, an ammunition depot, and an enemy electronic warfare station.
