Russia-Ukraine war: Frontline update as of January 13

Russian shelling

During the past day, there were 89 armed clashes. In total, the enemy launched 7 missile and 65 aviation strikes, conducting 44 bombardments from reactive volley fire systems on the positions of our troops and populated areas.

Due to Russian terrorist attacks, unfortunately, there are casualties and injuries among the civilian population. Residential buildings and other civilian infrastructure have suffered destruction and damage.

Aviation strikes hit:

• Vovchansk, Synkivka, Ivanivka, Vilkhuvatka in the Kharkiv region;
• Novoegorivka, Serebryanske Forestry in the Luhansk region;
• Zelena Dolyna, Kolodyazi, Bohdanivka, Oleksandropil, Novobakhmutivka, Avdiivka, Heorhiivka, Novomykhailivka in the Donetsk region.

Over 110 populated areas in the Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Dnipropetrovsk, Kherson, and Mykolaiv regions came under artillery fire.

Frontlines situation

In the Volyn and Polissia directions, the operational situation remains without significant changes.

In the Siversk and Slobozhanske directions, the enemy maintains military presence in border areas, conducts sabotage and reconnaissance activities, and increases the density of mine-explosive barriers along the state border in the Belgorod region.

In the Kupiansk direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled 9 enemy attacks near Petropavlivka and Synkivka in the Kharkiv region.

In the Lyman direction, our defenders successfully repelled 6 enemy attacks in the areas of Makiivka in the Luhansk region and Hryhorivka, Vesele in the Donetsk region.

In the Bakhmut direction, our forces repelled 5 enemy attacks near Andriivka and Klishchiivka in the Donetsk region.

In the Avdiivka direction, Ukrainian defenders continue to restrain the enemy, which persists in attempting to encircle Avdiivka. Our soldiers hold the defense steadfastly, inflicting significant losses on the aggressors.

During the past day, the Defense Forces repelled 4 enemy attacks near Avdiivka, and another 17 attacks near Pervomaiske and Nevelske in the Donetsk region.

In the Maryinka direction, Ukrainian Forces continue to hold back the occupiers in the areas of Krasnohorivka, Heorhiivka, Maryinka, and Novomykhailivka in the Donetsk region, where 26 attacks were repelled.

In the Shakhtarsk direction the defense forces repelled 4 enemy attacks south of Zolota Nyva and west of Staromayorske in the Donetsk region.

In the Zaporizhzhia direction, the Defense Forces repelled 8 enemy attacks west of Verbove and Robotyne in the Zaporizhzhia region.

In the Kherson direction, Ukrainian defenders continue their efforts to expand the foothold. Despite significant losses, the enemy persists in attempting to dislodge our units from their positions. Over the past day, the enemy carried out 9 unsuccessful assault actions against the positions of the Defense Forces.

At the same time, our soldiers continue actively inflicting losses on the occupation forces in personnel and equipment, exhausting the enemy along the entire front line.

Enemy losses

During the day, the Defense Forces aviation carried out strikes on the 21 concentration areas of personnel, weaponry, and military equipment, as well as targeting 4 enemy anti-aircraft missile systems.

Rocket forces units inflicted damage on 6 concentration areas of personnel, weaponry, and military equipment, a command post, an artillery unit, 2 anti-aircraft defense systems, an ammunition depot, and an enemy radar station.

It is worth reminding that the total number of losses in the Russian army since the beginning of the invasion is 368,460 military personnel.
