Russia-Ukraine war: Situation on the front as of November 12

Ukrainian Defense Forces continue offensive actions south of Bakhmut in the Donetsk region, conduct an offensive operation in the Melitopol direction, and maintain defense in the Avdiivka area. There were 80 combat clashes in the past 24 hours, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Enemy attacks
Over the past day, the enemy launched 1 missile and conducted 63 airstrikes, firing 64 attacks from reactive multiple-launch rocket systems at our troops' positions and populated areas.
As a result of Russian terrorist attacks, unfortunately, there are casualties and injuries among the civilian population. Residential buildings and other civilian infrastructure have been damaged and destroyed.
During the night, Russian occupiers carried out another missile strike on Ukraine, using 2 guided aviation missiles Kh-59 and the ballistic missile Iskander-M. One guided aviation missile Kh-59 was successfully destroyed by air defense forces. Information on the consequences of this terrorist attack is currently being clarified.
Airstrikes were conducted on: Chuikivka in the Sumy region; Kyslivka, Stepova Novoselivka, Kopanky, and Petropavlivka in the Kharkiv region; Serebrianske forestry, Bilohorivka in the Luhansk region; Siversk, Spirne, Terny, Novobakhmutivka, Klishchiivka, Andriivka, Novokalynove, Ocheretyne, Avdiivka, Orlivka, Lastochkyne, Heorhiivka, Maryinka, Novomykhailivka, Katerynivka, Urozhaine, Staramaiorske, Shakhtarske in the Donetsk region; Robotyne in Zaporizhia region; Tiahynka in the Kherson region.
Over 120 populated areas in Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Kherson, and Mykolaiv regions came under artillery fire.
Frontline situation
In the area of responsibility of the Operational Command North on the Volyn and Polissia directions, the operational situation remains relatively unchanged.
On the Siversk and Slobozhanske directions, the adversary maintains military presence in the border areas, actively conducts sabotage activities to prevent the transfer of our forces to threatening directions, and increases the density of mine-explosive barriers along the state border in the Belgorod region.
In the area of responsibility of the Operational Command Khortytsia in the Kupiansk direction, the enemy conducted unsuccessful assault actions near Synkivka, Ivanivka in the Kharkiv region, and Stelmakhivka, Nadiya in the Luhansk region, where our defenders repelled 7 attacks.
In the Lyman direction, the enemy, with air support, conducted assault operations in the area of Serebrianske forestry in the Luhansk region, but without success.
In the Bakhmut direction, our forces repelled 10 enemy attacks in the areas of Khromove, Andriivka, and Klishchiivka in the Donetsk region. In turn, the Armed Forces of Ukraine continue assault actions south of Bakhmut, causing losses to the enemy in personnel and equipment, consolidating positions reached.
In the zone of responsibility of the Operational Command Tavria on the Avdiivka direction, the enemy, using aviation, continues attempts to encircle Avdiivka. Our soldiers hold the defense steadfastly, inflicting significant losses on the enemy. The enemy's offensive actions in the areas of settlements Avdiivka, Sieverne, Tonenke, and Pervomaiske in the Donetsk region were unsuccessful, with 18 attacks repelled by the Armed Forces.
In the Maryinka direction, the enemy, with air support, conducted unsuccessful assault operations in the areas of Maryinka and Novomykhailivka in the Donetsk region. Ukrainian forces repelled 22 enemy attacks in this area.
On the Shakhtarsk direction, the occupiers, with air support, conducted unsuccessful assault operations near Vuhledar, Zolota Nyva, and Staromaiorske in the Donetsk region, where our defenders repelled 11 attacks.
In the Zaporizhzhia direction, the enemy, with air support, conducted assault operations near Robotyne in the Zaporizhzhia region without success.
Meanwhile, the Armed Forces of Ukraine continued the offensive operation in the Melitopol direction, causing losses to the occupying forces in personnel and equipment, wearing down the enemy along the entire front line.
In the zone of responsibility of the Operational Command Odesa in the Kherson direction, our soldiers are engaged in counter-battery combat, delivering fire strikes on the enemy's rear.
Enemy losses
During the day, the air force of the Armed Forces delivered 10 strikes on the areas of concentration of personnel, armaments, and military equipment of the enemy.
Missile troops units hit 2 artillery pieces, 8 areas of concentration of personnel, armaments, and military equipment, and 2 enemy air defense assets.
