Russia-Ukraine war: Frontline update as of October 10

Russian shelling

During the day, there were 75 combat clashes. Additionally, the Russian Federation launched a missile strike with a S-300 surface-to-air missile system on civilian buildings in the town of Velykyi Burluk in the Kharkiv region.

During the night, the occupiers attacked southern regions of our country with 36 combat drones of the Shahed-136/131 type. Forces and means of air defense destroyed 27 enemy Shaheds.

In total, the enemy carried out 2 missile strikes and 62 aviation attacks, along with more than 30 artillery shelling on the positions of our troops and populated areas. Unfortunately, there are casualties and injuries among the civilian population due to Russian terrorist attacks. Private residential buildings and other civilian infrastructure have been damaged and destroyed.

The situation on the fronts

The operational situation in the east and south of Ukraine remains challenging.

In the Volyn and Polissia directions, the operational situation remains unchanged, with no significant changes. There are no signs of the formation of advancing enemy groups. Identified units of the armed forces of Belarus are performing tasks in border areas with Ukraine.

In the Siversk and Slobozhanske directions, the enemy maintains military presence in border areas, continues shelling of populated areas from the territory of the Russian Federation, and increases the density of mine-explosive barriers along the state border of Ukraine. The enemy conducted aviation strikes in the areas of populated places in Bleshnia, the Chernihiv region; Bachivsk and Popivka, the Sumy region; Basove, Hatyshche, Vovchanske Khutors, the Kharkiv region.

Artillery and mortar shelling affected around 15 populated places, including Turia, the Chernihiv region; Iskryskivshchyna, Stepne, Myropilske, Pokrovka, the Sumy region; Ternova, Ohirtseve, Stroivka, Krasne Pershe, the Kharkiv region.

In the Kupiansk direction, Ukrainian troops repelled 16 enemy attacks in the area of Synkivka and 5 attacks near Ivanivka, the Kharkiv region. Synkivka, Kyslivka, and Pisсhane, the Kharkiv region, were subjected to aviation strikes. The enemy shelled over 20 populated places with artillery and mortars, including Lyman Pershyi, Synkivka, Kyslivka, Tabaiivka, Pischane, and Berestove, the Kharkiv region.

In the Luhansk direction, the enemy actively used aviation for strikes on the positions of our troops in the area of Serebriansk Forest (southwest of Kreminna, the Luhansk region). Aviation strikes also hit Novolubiivka, the Luhansk region, and Spirne, the Donetsk region. Additionally, Defense Forces repelled 5 enemy attacks near Makiivka, the Donetsk region. Artillery and mortar shelling affected more than 10 populated places, including Makiivka, Nevske, Bilohorivka, the Luhansk region, and Torske, Dibrova, Verkhniokamianske, the Donetsk region.

In the Bakhmut direction, our defenders repelled enemy attacks in the areas of populated places Chasiv Yar, Klischiivka, and Andriivka, the Donetsk region. Here, the occupiers also carried out aviation strikes. Over 20 populated places were under artillery and mortar fire, including Orikhovo-Vasylivka, Hryhorivka, Bohdanivka, Ivanivske, Klischiivka, Andriivka, the Donetsk region.

In the Avdiivka direction, the enemy, with the forces of up to three battalions supported by tanks and armored vehicles, intensified offensive actions in the areas of Avdiivka, Tonenke, Keramika, and Pervomaiske, the Donetsk region. Our defenders repelled all enemy attacks and prevented losses of positions and positions. The occupiers carried out aviation strikes in the areas of Berdychiv and Avdiivka, the Donetsk region. Around 10 populated places were under artillery and mortar fire, including Keramika, Avdiivka, Tonenke, Siverne, Opytne, and Nevelske, the Donetsk region.

In the Maryinka direction, during the day, the Defense Forces successfully repelled 9 enemy attacks in the areas of Maryinka, the Donetsk region. The enemy conducted aviation strikes near Novomykhailivka. Approximately 10 populated places, including Krasnohorivka, Maryinka, Pobeda, Novomykhailivka, Katerynivka, and Yelyzavetivka, the Donetsk region, were under enemy fire.

In the Shakhtarsk direction, the enemy conducted an aviation strike in the area of Staromaiorske, the Donetsk region. Approximately 10 populated places, including Vodiane, Vuhledar, Blahodatne, and Urozhaine, the Donetsk region, were subjected to artillery and mortar shelling.

In the Zaporizhzhia direction, the Defense Forces repelled enemy attacks in the areas of populated places Inzhenerne and Verbove, the Zaporizhzhia region. The occupiers carried out aviation strikes near Novodanylivka, the Zaporizhzhia region. Around 30 populated places, including Huliapole, Zaliznychne, Charivne, Bilohiria, Novoandriivka, Lobkove, the Zaporizhzhia region, were affected by artillery and mortar shelling.

In the Kherson direction, enemy artillery and mortar shelling affected Beryslav, Antonivka, and the regional center of the Kherson region.

Ukrainian counteroffensive

The Ukrainian Armed Forces continue their offensive operation in the Melitopol direction, conducting assault actions in the Bakhmut direction, inflicting losses on the occupying forces in personnel and equipment, and wearing down the enemy along the entire front line.

Enemy losses

During the day, the Ukrainian Armed Forces' aviation conducted 11 strikes on the areas of personnel, weaponry, and military equipment concentration, as well as 5 strikes on enemy air defense missile systems. Our defenders also destroyed a Russian Su-25 fighter and 7 operational-tactical reconnaissance UAVs.

The units of the missile forces struck the enemy's command post, ammunition depot, 3 areas of personnel, weaponry, and military equipment concentration, 7 artillery pieces, and the enemy's electronic warfare station.
