Russia-Ukraine war: Frontline update as of September 27

Ukrainian troops continue to advance on two fronts, repelled an enemy attack near Bakhmut, and destroyed a Russian S-300 missile system, according to data from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Russian shelling
During the day, there were 14 skirmishes. The enemy conducted 44 airstrikes and launched 27 rocket artillery attacks on the positions of our troops and civilian areas.
As a result of Russian terrorist attacks, unfortunately, there are casualties and injuries among the civilian population. Private residential buildings, a hospital, and other civilian infrastructure have been damaged and destroyed.
Frontline update
The operational situation in the east and south of Ukraine remains challenging.
On the Volyn and Polissia fronts, the operational situation is stable without significant changes. There are no signs of the enemy forming offensive groups.
Identified units of the Belarusian Armed Forces are carrying out tasks in border areas with Ukraine.
On the Siversk and Slobozhanske fronts, the enemy maintains military presence in border areas, continues shelling of populated areas from the territory of the Russian Federation, and increases the density of mine-explosive obstacles along the state border of Ukraine.
The enemy conducted an aerial strike near the village of Popivka in the Chernihiv region. Artillery and mortar shelling affected 25 populated areas, including Turia in the Chernihiv region, Khliborob, Chernatske, Rudak, Rozhkovychi, Yastrubshchyna in the Sumy region, and Odnorobivka, Hlybokе, Starytsia, Hatysche in the Kharkiv region.
On the Kupiansk front, the enemy conducted aerial strikes near Bologivka and Kruhliakivka in the Kharkiv region and Novoselivka in the Luhansk region.
Artillery and mortar shelling targeted Dvorichna, Synkivka, Petropavlivka, Ivanivka, and Kyslivka in Berestove in the Kharkiv region.
On the Lyman front, the enemy's aerial strikes affected Nadia, Novoiehorivka, Nevske in the Luhansk region, and Siversk, Spirne, Veselе in the Donetsk region.
Occupiers shelled with artillery and mortars more than 10 populated areas, including Nevske and Bilohorivka in the Luhansk region and Spirne, Rozdolivka in the Donetsk region.
On the Bakhmut front, Ukrainian defenders successfully repelled the enemy's attack in the area of Hryhorivka in the Donetsk region. The enemy conducted aerial strikes near Andriivka, Kostiantynivka, Pivnichne, and Toretsk in the Donetsk region.
More than 15 populated areas came under artillery and mortar fire, including Mykolaivka, Markove, Ivanivske, Klishchiivka, Andriivka, and Kurdiumivka in the Donetsk region. The enemy continues to increase the density of mine-explosive obstacles.
On the Avdiivka front, invaders carried out aerial strikes near Avdiivka and Vodiane in the Donetsk region.
Artillery and mortar shelling affected about 10 populated areas, including Novobakhmutivka, Novokalynove, Stepove, Avdiivka, Severne, and Pervomaiske in the Donetsk region.
On the Maryinka front, our defenders successfully repelled 8 enemy attacks directly in the area of Maryinka in the Donetsk region. The enemy conducted an aerial strike near Novomykhailivka in the Donetsk region.
Approximately 10 populated areas, including Krasnohorivka, Oleksandrivka, Maryinka, Pobeda, Novomykhailivka, and Katerynivka in the Donetsk region, were under enemy fire.
On the Shakhtarsk front, Ukrainian defenders successfully repelled the enemy's attack in the area of Rivnopillia in the Donetsk region. The enemy conducted aerial strikes near Urozhainе and Staromaiorske in the Donetsk region.
Artillery and mortar shelling affected approximately 10 populated areas, including Bohoiavlenska, Vuhledar, Prechystivka, Zolota Nyva, Blahodatne, and Urozhaine in the Donetsk region.
On the Zaporizhzhia front, the enemy conducted an aviation strike near Novodanilivka in the Zaporizhzhia region.
More than 20 populated areas, including Charivne, Robotyne, Mali Shcherbaky, Kamianske, Plavne in the Zaporizhzhia region, and Nikopol in the Dnipro region, were subjected to artillery and mortar shelling.
On the Kherson front, the enemy conducted aerial strikes near Mykolaivka, Burhunka, and Olhivka in the Kherson region.
Over 10 populated areas, including the city of Kherson, Antonivka, Dniprovsky, and Shyroka Balka in the Kherson region, came under enemy artillery and mortar fire.
Ukrainian offensive
At the same time, the Ukrainian Defense Forces continue their offensive operation on the Melitopol front, conducting assault actions on the Bakhmut front, inflicting losses on the occupation forces in personnel and equipment, and exhausting the enemy along the entire front line.
Enemy losses
During the day, the aviation of the Defense Forces delivered 7 strikes on areas of enemy personnel, weapons, and military equipment concentration. Additionally, our defenders destroyed 2 tactical-level reconnaissance UAVs.
Missile troops units inflicted damage on the S-300 air defense missile system and 6 artillery systems of the enemy.
It should be noted that the total number of losses in the Russian army since the beginning of the invasion is 276,990 military personnel.
