Russia-Ukraine war: Frontline update as of September 19
Ukrainian fighters are advancing on two fronts, repelling a Russian attack near Robitne and destroying an enemy electronic warfare system, according to data from the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
Russian shelling
During the past 24 hours, there have been 15 combat clashes. Today, the Russian Federation conducted another aerial strike on Ukraine using attack UAVs of the Shahed-136/131 type.
According to updated information, 28 out of 31 Shahed UAVs were destroyed by air defense systems along their routes in the southern, central, and western regions of Ukraine. The cynical missile strike with an Iskandr-M ballistic missile affected the civilian population in the city of Kryvyi Rih in the Dnipro region.
In total, during this day, the enemy launched 9 missiles and 67 aviation strikes, as well as carried out 40 shelling incidents using multiple launch rocket systems on the positions of our troops and populated areas.
Regrettably, there have been casualties and injuries among the civilian population due to Russian terrorist attacks. Residential buildings and other civilian infrastructure have also suffered damage and destruction.
Frontline Situation
The operational situation in the east and south of Ukraine remains challenging.
In the Volyn and Polissia directions, the operational situation remains unchanged, with no significant signs of enemy offensive groupings detected. Identified units of the Belarusian Armed Forces are fulfilling their tasks in border areas with Ukraine.
In the Siversk and Slobozhanske directions, the enemy maintains a military presence in border areas and continues shelling populated areas from Russian territory. They conducted aviation strikes near Leonivka, Popivka in the Chernihiv region, and Hrabovske in the Sumy region.
Over 30 populated areas, including Karpovychi, Arkhypivka, Hremiach in the Chernihiv region, and Havrylova Sloboda, Seredyna-Buda, Obody, Veselivka in the Sumy region, as well as Ambarne, Stroiivka, Topoli in the Kharkiv region, were subjected to artillery and mortar shelling.
In the Kupiansk direction, the enemy carried out an aviation strike in the vicinity of Ivanivka and Kupiansk in the Kharkiv region.
Over 10 populated areas, including Krasne Pershe, Lyman Pershyi, Synkivka, Kotliarivka, Krokhmalne, and Berestove in the Kharkiv region, were affected by artillery and mortar shelling.
In the Lyman direction, enemy aviation strikes were reported in the areas of Bilohorivka in the Luhansk region and Spirne in the Donetsk region.
Over 10 populated areas, including Bilohorivka in the Luhansk region and Torske, Yamplil, Dronivka, Spirne, Berestove in the Donetsk region, came under artillery and mortar fire.
In the Bakhmut direction, Ukrainian defense forces successfully repelled an enemy attack west of Yahidne in the Donetsk region. The enemy attempted to regain lost positions near Andriivka in the Donetsk region but was unsuccessful.
Enemy aviation strikes were reported near Bohdanivka and Klishchiivka in the Donetsk region. More than 25 populated areas, including Bohdanivka, Ivanivske, Stupochky, Klishchiivka, Andriivka, and Kurdiumivka in the Donetsk region, were under artillery and mortar fire.
In the Avdiivka direction, the enemy carried out an aviation strike near Avdiivka in the Donetsk region.
Around 10 populated areas, including Keramik, Stepove, Avdiivka, Severne, Pervomaiske, and Nevelske in the Donetsk region, were affected by artillery and mortar shelling.
In the Maryinka direction, Ukrainian defenders successfully repelled 10 enemy attacks in the Maryinka area in the Donetsk region. The enemy conducted an aviation strike in the Krasnohorivka area of the Donetsk region.
In this area, enemy artillery and mortar fire did not cease. Approximately 10 populated areas, including Maryinka, Pobieda, Maksymilianivka, and Novomykhailivka in the Donetsk region, were under fire.
In the Shakhtarsk direction, enemy aviation strikes targeted areas near Vuhledar, Urozhaine, and Staromaiorske in the Donetsk region.
The occupants shelled around 10 populated areas, including Vodiane, Vuhledar, Prechystivka, Blahodatne, and Urozhaine in the Donetsk region.
In the Zaporizhzhia direction, Ukrainian defense forces successfully repelled an enemy attack in the Robotyne area of the Zaporizhzhia region. The enemy conducted aviation strikes near Levadne and Mala Tokmachka in the Zaporizhzhia region.
Over 25 populated areas, including Charivne, Biloheer, Orikhiv, Shcherbaky, and Kamianske in the Zaporizhzhia region, were under artillery and mortar fire.
In the Kherson direction, the enemy carried out aviation strikes in the areas of Vesele, Olhivka, Lvove, Tiahynka, Tokarivka, and Sadove in the Kherson region.
Around 10 populated areas, including Antonivka and Kherson in the Kherson region, were affected by artillery and mortar shelling.
Ukrainian offensive
Meanwhile, Ukrainian defense forces continue their offensive operation in the Melitopol direction, conducting offensive actions in the Bakhmut direction, inflicting losses on the occupying forces in personnel and equipment, and wearing down the enemy.
Emergency events
Russian occupiers cynically continue to violate the norms of international humanitarian law, forcibly cohabitating with civilian residents in their homes, using civilians as human shields.
For instance, in the populated area of Tokmak in the Zaporizhzhia region, Russian occupation troops are forcibly resettling elderly civilians into their residences. Additionally, the occupiers are looting the apartments and homes of Ukrainian citizens.
Enemy losses
During the day, the aviation of the Defense Forces delivered 16 strikes on personnel, weaponry, military equipment concentration areas, and 2 strikes on the enemy's anti-aircraft missile systems.
Rocket troops units targeted 3 command posts, an anti-aircraft missile complex, 9 artillery pieces, 1 ammunition depot, and an enemy electronic warfare station.
It should be noted that the total number of losses in the Russian army since the beginning of the invasion is 273,460 military personnel.
