Russia-Ukraine war: Frontline update as of September 14

Ukrainian fighters continue to advance in the Melitopol and Bakhmut directions. They destroyed a Russian ammunition depot and repelled a series of Russian attacks near Avdiivka, according to the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
Russian shelling
During the day, more than 20 clashes occurred.
Additionally, today the Russian Federation carried out another massive aerial strike with Iranian Shahed-136/131 drones towards the Mykolaiv, Zaporizhzhia, Dnipropetrovsk, and Sumy regions. As a result of successful military operations by the Air Force in cooperation with air defense units and other components of the defense forces, 17 out of 22 enemy UAVs were destroyed. In total, the enemy launched 1 missile strike and 44 airstrikes and conducted 37 shelling attacks with rocket artillery on Ukrainian troops' positions and civilian areas.
Unfortunately, due to Russian terrorist attacks, there have been casualties and injuries among the civilian population. Private residential buildings and other civilian infrastructure have also suffered damage.
Frontline situation
The operational situation in eastern and southern Ukraine remains complex.
In the Volyn and Polissia directions, the operational situation remains unchanged with no significant changes observed. There are no signs of the enemy forming offensive groups.
Identified units of the Belarusian Armed Forces are performing tasks in border areas with Ukraine.
In the Siversk and Slobozhanske directions, the enemy maintains a military presence in border areas, continues subversive reconnaissance activities, fires on settlements from Russian territory, and unsuccessfully attempts armed provocations violating the state border of Ukraine.
The enemy conducted aerial strikes in the areas of Strilecha and Pletenivka in the Kharkiv region. Over 15 settlements were shelled by artillery and mortars.
In the Kupiansk direction, enemy aerial strikes targeted the areas of Stepova Novoselivka and Kotliarivka in the Kharkiv region, as well as Nadiia and Novoiehorivka in the Luhansk region.
Artillery and mortar shelling affected settlements such as Kucherivka, Kyslivka, Ivanivka, Synkivka, and Berestove in the Kharkiv region.
In the Lyman direction, the enemy's artillery and mortar shelling hit settlements, including Nevske, Bilohorivka in the Luhansk region, and Torske, Verkhniokamianske, and Spirne in the Donetsk region.
In the Bakhmut direction, the enemy conducted an aerial strike near the settlement of Klishchiivka in the Donetsk region.
Over 10 settlements were subjected to artillery and mortar fire, including Orikhovo-Vasylivka, Hryhorivka, Chasiv Yar, Ivanivske, Pivnichne in the Donetsk region.
In the Avdiivka direction, Ukrainian defenders continue to hold the defense successfully, repelling a series of enemy attacks in the areas of Lastochkyne and Avdiivka in the Donetsk region.
Panteleimonivka, Keramika, Lastochkyne, Avdiivka, Sieverne, and Pervomaiske in the Donetsk region were subjected to artillery and mortar shelling.
In the Maryinka direction, Ukrainian defenders successfully repelled about 10 enemy attacks in the Maryinka area. The enemy conducted an aerial strike in the Krasnohorivka area of the Donetsk region.
Approximately 10 settlements were shelled by artillery and mortars.
In the Shakhtarsk direction, enemy airstrikes targeted Vodiane, Prechystivka, Novomaiorske, and Staromaiorske in the Donetsk region.
The enemy shelled over 10 settlements with artillery and mortars.
In the Zaporizhzhia direction, the enemy carried out an aerial strike near Robotyne in the Zaporizhzhia region. More than 15 settlements were shelled by artillery and mortars.
In the Kherson direction, over 10 settlements were shelled by enemy artillery and mortars.
Advance of the Ukrainian Armed Forces
The Ukrainian defense forces continue their offensive operation in the Melitopol direction, and conduct assault actions in the Bakhmut direction, destroying the enemy, and gradually liberating occupied territories.
Enemy losses
During the day, the Ukrainian Air Force carried out 10 strikes on areas with a concentration of enemy personnel, weaponry, and military equipment.
Units of the missile forces inflicted damage to 1 command post, 2 anti-aircraft missile systems, 5 artillery units, and 1 ammunition depot of the enemy.
Russia's losses in the war against Ukraine have already exceeded 270,000 personnel.
