Russia-Ukraine war - Frontline update as of August 14

Ukrainian military forces continue to advance in the Zaporizhzhia region. They repelled attacks by occupiers in the areas of Maryinka and Krasnohorivka and destroyed 1 Russian Federation command point, according to data from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Russian shelling
During the past 24 hours, Russian occupiers launched another missile and aviation strike on Ukrainian territory. The enemy used 8 Kalibr missiles and 15 Iranian combat drones Shahed-136/131 on the Odesa region.
As a result of successful combat actions by our air defense forces, all Kalibr missiles and UAVs were destroyed.
In total, the enemy carried out 12 missile and 67 aviation strikes, conducting over 40 shelling attacks with multiple launch rocket systems on the positions of our forces and civilian settlements. Unfortunately, due to these Russian terrorist attacks, there are casualties and injuries among the civilian population.
Residential buildings, a shopping center, a student dormitory, kindergartens, schools, and other civilian infrastructure have suffered destruction and damage. The possibility of missile and aviation strikes across the entire territory of Ukraine remains high.
Frontline situation
During the past 24 hours, there were 11 clashes on the different fronts.
In the Volyn and Polissia directions, the operational situation remains relatively stable in the Volyn and Polissia directions, with no significant change.
In the Siversk and Slobozhanske directions, the enemy conducted an airstrike in the area of Stepne, the Sumy region.
They carried out mortar and artillery shelling on over 25 populated areas, including Bleshnia, Khotiivka, Tymonovychi in the Chernihiv region; Atinske, Stepne, Vodolahy in the Sumy region, and Udy, Strilecha, Lukiantsi in the Kharkiv region.
In the Kupiansk direction, the enemy conducted airstrikes in the areas of Ivanivka, Zahryzove in the Kharkiv region, and Stelmakhivka in the Luhansk region.
Enemy artillery and mortar shelling targeted over 15 populated areas, among them Novomlynsk, Vilshana, Synkivka, Kupiansk, Podoly, Buhaivka in the Kharkiv region.
In the Lyman direction, the enemy carried out airstrikes in the areas of Bilohorivka in the Luhansk region and Spirne in Donetsk region.
Enemy artillery shelling affected more than 25 populated areas, including Nevske, Dibrova, Bilohorivka in the Luhansk region, and Siversk, Verkhniokamianske, Spirne in the Donetsk region.
In the Bakhmut direction, the enemy conducted airstrikes in the areas of Vasiukivka and Klishchiivka in the Donetsk region.
Over 25 populated areas were affected by enemy artillery shelling, including Vasiukivka, Orikhovo-Vasylivka, Novomarkove, Hryhorivka, Bohdanivka, Klishchiivka in the Donetsk region.
In the Avdiivka direction, the enemy conducted an airstrike in the Avdiivka area. Populated areas such as Oleksandropil, Keramik, Novokalynove, Stepove, and Avdiivka in the Donetsk region were targeted by artillery shelling.
In the Maryinka direction, defense forces continue to resist the advance of Russian troops in the areas of Maryinka and Krasnohorivka in the Donetsk region. The enemy conducted an airstrike in the areas of Krasnohorivka and Novomykhailivka in the Donetsk region.
Over 10 populated areas experienced enemy artillery shelling, including Krasnohorivka, Maryinka, Heorhiivka, Hostre, Novomykhailivka, Katerynivka in the Donetsk region.
In the Shakhtarsk direction, the enemy conducted airstrikes in the areas of Velyka Novosilka, Blahodatne, Makarivka, and Urozhainе in the Donetsk region.
More than 10 populated areas were affected by enemy artillery shelling, including Vuhledar, Prechystivka, Zolota Niva, Blahodatne, Urozhainе, Staromaiorske in the Donetsk region.
In the Zaporizhzhia direction, the enemy conducted an airstrike in the area of Novodanilivka, the Zaporizhzhia region.
More than 20 populated areas were affected by enemy artillery shelling, including Charivne, Novoandriivka, Shcherbaky, Pavlivka, Piatyhatky, Kamianske in the Zaporizhzhia region.
In the Kherson direction, the enemy conducted an airstrike in the area of Olhivka, the Kherson region.
Enemy artillery shelling affected more than 20 populated areas, including Zolota Balka, Mykhailivka, Havrylivka, Respublikanets, Novokaіiry, Komyshany in the Kherson region and the city of Kherson.
Advance of the Ukrainian Armed Forces
Simultaneously, the Ukrainian Defense Forces continue their offensive operation in the Melitopol and Berdyansk directions. They are consolidating their positions on the achieved lines, and implementing counter-battery measures.
Extraordinary events
The Moscow regime continues its unlawful integration of temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine into its socio-political space. In the settlement of Svatove in the Luhansk region, for instance, the occupiers demand that representatives of local self-government authorities resign from their positions voluntarily in order to change the leadership. The occupiers plan to create so-called "municipalities" to be headed by local collaborators, as a result of pseudo-elections to be held in the occupied territories on the same day as the voting in Russia on September 10.
Enemy losses
During the day, the defense aviation carried out 1 strike on a command point, 7 strikes on areas of personnel concentration, weaponry, and military equipment, and 3 strikes on enemy anti-aircraft missile systems. Additionally, our defenders destroyed an enemy attack helicopter Ka-52.
