Russia-Ukraine war: Frontline update as of August 10

Russian forces have conducted unsuccessful offensives on three fronts. Meanwhile, Ukrainian defenders are holding back the occupiers on two other fronts, according to the data from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Facebook.
Enemy Attacks
During the day, the enemy delivered three missile and 49 aviation strikes, conducting 36 shelling rounds from multiple launch rocket systems on Ukrainian military positions and populated areas. Unfortunately, due to Russian terrorist attacks, there have been casualties and injuries among the civilian population.
The likelihood of missile and aviation strikes across Ukraine's territory remains high.
Frontline Situation
Over the past day, there were approximately 25 clashes.
In the Volyn and Polissia directions, the operational situation remains unchanged.
In the Siversk and Slobozhanske directions, the enemy conducted aviation strikes in the areas of Stepne and Kostyantynivka in the Sumy Region. They carried out mortar and artillery shelling on more than 20 populated areas, including Klusy, Bleshnia, Karpovychi in the Chernihiv region; Popivka, Tymofiivka, Stukalivka in the Sumy region, and Udy, Huriiv Kozachok, Odnorobivka, Strylecha, Okhrymivka in the Kharkiv region.
In the Kupiansk direction, the enemy attempted unsuccessful offensive actions in the area of Nadiia and south of Novoselivka in the Luhansk region. Enemy artillery and mortar shelling affected more than 10 populated areas, including Kamianka, Dvorichna, Zapadne, Kindrashivka, Holubivka, and Kupiansk in the Kharkiv region.
In the Lyman direction, the enemy conducted aviation strikes in the areas of Bilohorivka in the Luhansk region and Novomykhailivka in the Donetsk region. Enemy artillery shelling affected the localities of Nevske, Bilohorivka in the Luhansk region, and Torske, Spirne, Rozdolivka in the Donetsk region.
In the Bakhmut direction, the enemy conducted unsuccessful offensive actions in the area of Bohdanivka. Over 10 populated areas, including Vasiukivka, Orikhovo-Vasylivka, Bohdanivka, Chasiv Yar, Predtechyne in the Donetsk region, suffered from enemy artillery shelling.
In the Avdiivka direction, under intense fire from enemy aviation and artillery, Ukrainian defenders continue to restrain the Russian forces' advance in the area of Avdiivka. The enemy conducted an aviation strike in the northern area. More than 10 populated areas, including Oleksandriivka, Novokalynove, Novoselivka Persha, Avdiivka, Severene in the Donetsk region, were affected by enemy artillery shelling.
In the Maryinka direction, the defense forces continue to hold back the Russian forces' advance in the area of Maryinka in the Donetsk region. More than 10 populated areas, including Krasnohorivka, Heorhiivka, Paraskoviiivka, and Novomykhailivka in the Donetsk region, were affected by enemy artillery shelling.
In the Shakhtarsk direction, the enemy attempted unsuccessful efforts to regain lost positions in the area of Staromaiorske. An aviation strike was carried out there as well. Enemy artillery shelling affected Vodiane, Vuhledar, Bohoyavlenska, Prechystivka, Velyka Novosilka, Blahodatne inthe Donetsk region.
In the Zaporizhzhia direction, the enemy conducted an aviation strike in the area of Mala Tokmachka in the Zaporizhzhia region. Enemy artillery shelling affected more than 15 populated areas, including Olihivske, Chervone, Huliaypole, Piatykhatky, Kamianske in the Zaporizhzhia region, and Nikopol in the Dnipro region.
In the Kherson direction, the enemy conducted an aviation strike in the area of Kozatske in the Kherson Region. Enemy artillery shelling affected more than 20 populated areas, including Zolota Balka, Respublikanets, Chervonyi Mayak, Shliakhove, Kozatske, Antonivka, and Velytenske in the Kherson region and Kherson; Kutsurub, Ochakiv, Dmytrivka in the Mykolaiv region.
Offensive actions
Meanwhile, the Ukrainian Defense Forces continue their offensive operation in the Melitopol and Berdyansk directions, consolidating their positions, and conducting counter-battery measures.
Enemy losses
During the day, the defense aviation delivered 10 strikes on areas with personnel, weaponry, and military equipment concentration, and two strikes on the enemy's anti-aircraft missile complex.
Additionally, Ukrainian defenders destroyed seven enemy attack UAVs of the "Shahed-136" type.
Rocket forces and artillery units targeted four artillery pieces in firing positions, one area with personnel, weaponry, and military equipment concentration, one radio-electronic warfare station, and one enemy communication node.
Counteroffensive of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the South
This summer, Ukrainian military forces have intensified their offensive actions in the south of Ukraine, specifically in the Melitopol and Berdyansk directions in the Zaporizhzhia and the Donetsk regions. During this time, more than 10 populated areas have been liberated.
Currently, the progress of the Defense Forces is hindered by enemy minefields and a formidable defense line built by the occupiers.
