Russia tries to create buffer zone in Kharkiv region, Ukrainian military says

On the Southern-Slobozhanskyi axis, Russian forces are attempting to create a buffer zone in the border areas of the Kharkiv region. The main target of the enemy remains Vovchansk, Spokesperson for the North military grouping of Ukrainian Armed Forces, Oleh Sushynskyi, reports.
According to the Ukrainian military, Russian forces are concentrating their efforts on the Southern-Slobozhanskyi axis to establish a buffer zone in the border areas of Kharkiv region.
“As before, one of the main goals of the enemy remains Vovchansk - they attempt attacks there almost daily,” explained Sushynskyi.
Spokesperson noted that units of the Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to hold positions on the northern bank of the Vovcha River - particularly in the area of the Aggregate Plant.
“The enemy is trying to push out our Defense Forces there, but has had no significant success,” said Sushynskyi
Nighttime attack on Kharkiv region
Last night in the village of Malynivka, Chuhuiv district, drones hit a private household. As a result, a residential house and passenger vehicles caught fire.
The strikes also ignited the territory of a civilian enterprise and infrastructure facilities.
Throughout the night, Russia launched over 100 drones from six directions across Ukrainian territory. Ukrainian air defense shot down or suppressed 84 enemy Shahed drones and decoy UAVs.
Furthermore, Russian shelling left earlier 40,000 residents of Kharkiv region without electricity.
In addition, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Defense Forces engaged in 180 combat clashes with Russian troops in the past day.
