Russia transports Rosgvardiya troops to occupied territories to combat extremism - NRC
Russia is transporting its Rosgvardiya police officers to temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine to combat Ukrainian resistance, according to the National Resistance Center (NRC).
The official reason for increasing police presence is the high level of so-called extremism. According to the NRC, in totalitarian Russia, extremism is defined as anything that contradicts the Kremlin's will. In the case of the occupied territories, a love for one's homeland labels one as an extremist.
"The deployment of police is intended by the Russian authorities to relieve the army, which is currently conducting raids against the local population. This will also accordingly increase the number of raids in search of underground resistance members," the statement said.
The NRC urged Ukrainians in occupied territories to be cautious and avoid unnecessary risks.
"Inform us about the locations of Rosgvardiya headquarters, and those sent to death by Putin will find it," the agency added.
