Russia threatens students in occupied territories with fines for skipping military draft
In the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine, the enemy has begun implementing mobilization processes for mandatory military service. In particular, a number of students are being threatened with large fines for refusing to serve, according to the National Resistance Center.
According to an information resource, representatives of the so-called military draft offices are bypassing educational institutions in occupied territories. In particular, Russians are threatening final-year students with fines of up to 200,000 Russian rubles for refusing to serve in the Russian military.
If they cannot pay the fine, the occupiers promise to force those refusing into compulsory labor for the Russian army for two years.
"We emphasize that international law prohibits the recruitment of residents of occupied territories for service in the enemy's army or their enlistment," added the National Resistance Center.
It is worth noting that about a week ago, the National Resistance Center reported that occupation authorities had already started compiling lists of residents from the seized territories of Ukraine, planning to draft them into the Russian army.
The National Resistance Center also informed that most Ukrainians who were conscripted last fall are serving in Crimea.
