Russia talks timing of third negotiation round with Ukraine

The Press Secretary of the Russian President, Dmitry Peskov, stated that the third round of negotiations between Russia and Ukraine will not take place until both sides have reviewed the exchanged documents, the Russian news agency TASS reports.
According to Peskov, the analysis of the draft memorandums previously exchanged by the delegations is currently underway.
"Obviously, some time will be needed to review the draft memorandums that were exchanged. As the sides become ready, they will agree on new dates for the next round," the Russian Presidential Press Secretary noted.
Yesterday the Chairman of the State Duma Committee on International Affairs, Leonid Slutsky, said that Russia and Ukraine might hold the third round of negotiations at the end of June in Istanbul.
According to Slutsky, the key issue of the meeting will be moving toward a sustainable ceasefire.
Ukraine-Russia negotiations
Earlier, we reported that on June 2 the second round of negotiations between Ukraine and Russia took place. After the meeting, Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umerov said that the sides had, among other things, discussed a potential meeting at the level of national leaders.
Following the negotiations in Istanbul on May 16, Russia announced that it would prepare a so-called memorandum outlining its vision of a ceasefire. The Russian leader claimed that this memorandum would supposedly serve as a step toward a future peace agreement.
First Deputy Foreign Minister Serhiy Kyslytsya emphasized that the Ukrainian side had not received a response to its document. Kyslytsya confirmed that as of June 2, he didn't see the draft memorandum.
