On September 27, Russian forces suffered their highest daily losses since the start of the war against Ukraine, according to UK intelligence.
According to analysts, Russian forces lost 2,090 personnel, killed and wounded, on September 27.
This is "the highest daily total for the conflict since February 2022," UK intelligence said.
Overall, this is only the fourth time that daily Russian military losses have exceeded 2,000 personnel. The previous three records were set in 2024.
Analysts stressed that Russian losses have remained consistently high since the summer, driven by the Kremlin's continued attempts to advance around the fortress belt in the Donetsk region, particularly near Dobropillia.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy previously said that Ukrainian forces had killed or wounded 10,660 Russian troops over the past week. Ukrainian forces have also achieved important results in the Lyman sector.
