Russia strikes village council in Donetsk region: One fatality and several injured reported
Russian forces on Friday, July 5, struck the village of Komar in the Volnovakha district. As a result of the shelling, a staff member of the village council was killed, and 14 of her colleagues were injured, according to the Donetsk Regional Prosecutor's Office.
According to the investigation, on July 5, 2024, Russian forces conducted three strikes on the village of Komar in the Volnovakha district. The central part of the settlement was targeted for the hostile attack.
As a result of one of the strikes near the village council building, 15 employees of the institution, who were inside during the shelling, were injured. One of the victims succumbed to severe injuries during medical treatment.
The private sector of the village was also under fire from Russian forces. The final number of casualties and the type of weaponry used by the enemy are still being determined.
The administrative building, residential houses, agricultural structures, and vehicles in the settlement were damaged.
Under the procedural supervision of the Donetsk Regional Prosecutor's Office, a pre-trial investigation was initiated in the criminal proceedings on the fact of violation of the laws and customs of war (Part 2 Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

Shelling of the Donetsk region
Yesterday evening, July 4th, Russian troops shelled the town of Novohrodivka in the Donetsk region several times. Four children were injured.
Russian forces also shelled the city of Druzhkivka in the Donetsk region on July 3rd, damaging the fire station there.
