On the night of October 7, Russian troops launched a large-scale missile attack on Ukraine with Iskander-M ballistic missiles, Kh-59 aircraft missiles, and drones, according to the Ukrainian Air Force.

The Russian missiles were launched from the Kursk and Belgorod regions, as well as from the districts of Orel, Primorsko-Akhtarsk, Kursk, and Yeysk.

At around 8:20 a.m. Kyiv time, Russia attacked Ukraine with three Kh-47M2 Kinzhal aeroballistic missiles from MiG-31K aircraft that took off from Savasleyka airfield in the Tambov region.

According to the Ukrainian Air Force, radio engineering troops recorded over 80 air targets. The defense was carried out by anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units, and mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Air Force and Defense Forces.

Kinzhal missiles were destroyed over the Kyiv region, and 32 enemy drones in Mykolaiv, Kyiv, Dnipro, Sumy, Chernihiv, Poltava, and Kharkiv regions.

Several Russian drone strikes were recorded in the Kharkiv region, and one of 3 Kinzhal ballistic missiles hit the area of the Starokostiantyniv airfield in the Khmelnytskyi region. In addition, 37 Russian drones were lost in different regions of Ukraine, probably due to active electronic warfare.

One drone is still in the air, and combat operations are ongoing. Information on further hits is being clarified.

Russian night attack on Ukraine

On the night of October 6, Russia attempted an attack on Kyiv with drones. Ukrainian Air Defense Forces successfully destroyed all Russian drones that entered the airspace of Kyiv.

On the morning of October 7, Russian troops again attacked Kyiv with drones. Throughout the night, the capital was put on air alert 3 times, which lasted over 2 hours in total.

In addition, Russia struck Starokostiantyniv, Khmelnytskyi region.
