Russia launched the latest Zircon missiles, ballistic missiles, and dozens of drones at Ukraine overnight. Most of the targets were destroyed, but there were some hits, according to the Ukrainian Air Force.

On the night of February 16, Russian troops launched a combined attack on Ukraine with Zircon anti-ship missiles, Iskander-M ballistic missiles, Kh-31P guided air missiles, and dozens of various types of strike drones.

The missiles were launched from the temporarily occupied Crimea, the Bryansk region of Russia, and the occupied part of the Zaporizhzhia region. The drones were launched from several directions, including Millerovo, Kursk, Bryansk, Shatalovo, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk.

How many targets did Ukrainian air defense destroy?

According to preliminary data as of 9 a.m. Kyiv time, Ukrainian air defense forces shot down or suppressed 2 Zircon anti-ship missiles and 52 Shahed, Gerbera, Italmas, and other attack drones.

Russian air attack was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile units, mobile fire groups, electronic warfare forces, and unmanned systems units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

Russian strikes and debris

One missile and nine attack Russian drones were recorded hitting 8 locations. Debris from downed targets was also recorded falling at two locations.

Information on three more missiles is currently being verified.

On the night of February 15, Russia attacked Ukraine with 83 strike drones from five directions. At that time, 25 strike drones were recorded hitting 12 locations, and debris fell at three locations.
