Russia strikes Ukraine with drones and missiles overnight
On the night of September 10, Russia launched 2 missiles and 46 Shahed-type attack unmanned aerial vehicles against Ukraine. Ukrainian air defense destroyed 38 drones, according to the Air Force of Ukraine.
In total, Russians launched 48 air strikes, namely:
- Iskander-M ballistic missile from the temporarily occupied Crimea
- Kh-31P anti-aircraft missile from the airspace over the Black Sea
- 46 Shaheds from the Russian cities of Kursk and Yeysk.
Aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, mobile fire groups, and electronic warfare units were involved in repelling the Russian attack.
As a result of the air battle, 38 attack UAVs were shot down.
Also during the Russian attack, three UAVs left Ukraine's controlled airspace. One flew in the direction of Russia, and the other two flew in the direction of the temporarily occupied part of the Luhansk region. Three more drones were lost on the territory of Ukraine.
Air defenses were operating in Kyiv, Vinnytsia, Chernihiv, Kirovohrad, and other regions.
Russian shelling of Ukraine on the night of September 10
On the evening of September 9, Russia launched Shahed-type attack drones towards Ukraine, prompting an air alert in many regions. As of 3:48 a.m., up to 10 UAVs were moving within Poltava and Cherkasy regions. Explosions were heard in the latter at around 4 a.m.
That night, drones also attacked Russia on a large scale. During the attack, explosions were heard in the Moscow region and Bryansk region.
