Russia strikes Ukraine with ballistic missile and 127 drones overnight

Russian troops attacked Ukraine at night with 127 strike drones and an Iskander ballistic missile. Most Russian targets were eliminated by the Ukrainian Air Force's air defense forces.

"On the night of February 23, the enemy attacked with one Iskander-M ballistic missile from the Rostov region of the Russian Federation, as well as 126 Shahed, Gerbera, Italmas, and other types of drones from six directions, about 80 of them Shahed," the Air Force says.
The Russian air attack was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile forces, electronic warfare units, and unmanned systems, as well as by mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
According to preliminary data, as of 8 a.m., Ukrainian air defense forces shot down or suppressed 105 Russian Shahed, Gerbera, Italmas, and other types of drones in the north, south, and east of Ukraine.
A ballistic missile and 20 strike drones were also recorded hitting 11 locations, as well as drone debris falling at one location.
"Russian attack continues, with several Russian drones in the airspace. Follow the safety rules," the Ukrainian Air Force adds.
Russian strikes on Ukraine on night of February 23
Russian troops attacked mainly the eastern and southern regions of Ukraine during the night. Russia attacked the Zaporizhzhia region and the city of Zaporizhzhia itself throughout the night. As a result of the Russian strikes, one person was killed, and another was wounded.
Russia also struck industrial, energy, and civilian infrastructure in the Odesa region.
A 20-year-old woman and a 45-year-old man were killed as a result of the nighttime Russian strikes. Three people aged 23 to 45 were also injured. Two of them are in severe condition.
