Russia strikes Ukraine with 98 drones and 6 missiles overnight: Air defense's work reported

On the night of October 21, Russia launched a combined attack on Ukraine, using missiles and nearly a hundred strike drones, according to the Ukrainian Air Force.
According to the Ukrainian Air Force, Russia struck Ukraine with:
- 2 Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missiles from the Bryansk region of Russia;
- 4 S-300 missiles from the Kursk region;
- 98 Shahed, Gerbera, and other types of attack drones.
Russian drones flew from four directions, with about 70 of the launched drones being Shahed.
Russian attack was repelled by Ukrainian aviation units, anti-aircraft missile forces, mobile fire groups, electronic warfare units, and unmanned systems.
As of 8:30 a.m. Kyiv time, Ukrainian air defense forces shot down or suppressed 58 kamikaze drones in the north, south, and east of Ukraine.
At the same time, Russian missiles and 37 strike drones were recorded in 10 locations, as well as debris from downed drones falling in 2 other locations. Information on the consequences is being clarified.
Russian strikes on Ukraine on October 21
Last night, Russia massively struck Chernihiv and part of the region. Energy facilities were hit, which led to a complete blackout in Chernihiv.

Russia also struck the Cherkasy region, where debris from downed drones damaged a street transformer. Over 150 residents were left without power.
In addition, the Russians launched aerial bombs on Kharkiv. As a result of the Russian strikes, over a dozen houses were damaged, and there are reports of casualties. At least 4 explosions were heard in the city. The strikes hit 2 districts.
Russian guided aerial bombs damaged at least 15 private houses in the Industrialnyi district. In addition, a Russian strike on the Nemyshlyanskyi district was confirmed. The consequences are currently being clarified.
