Russia strikes Ukraine with 92 drones and 4 ballistic missiles: Air defense's work reported
On the night of January 23, Russians launched nearly a hundred drones and 4 ballistic missiles against Ukraine. Several drones are still in the airspace of Ukraine, according to the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Russians struck Ukraine with:
- 92 a Shahed and imitator drones of various types from the directions of the Russian cities of Millerovo, Orel, Kursk, Bryansk, Primorsko-Akhtarsk
- 4 Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missiles from the Voronezh region toward Zaporizhzhia.
To repel Russian air attack, the following were involved:
- anti-aircraft missile troops;
- electronic warfare units;
- mobile fire groups of the Air Force and the Defense Forces of Ukraine.
As of 9:30 a.m. Kyiv time:
- 57 Russian drones have been shot down in Poltava, Sumy, Zaporizhzhia and many other regions;
- 27 Russian drones were locally lost without negative consequences;
- 3 Russian drones are still in Ukrainian airspace.
“Unfortunately, Russia's ballistic missile attack on the city of Zaporizhzhia resulted in one killed and one wounded, as well as the destruction and damage to enterprises, institutions, apartment buildings, and private homes. Special services are eliminating the consequences and assisting the victims. Kharkiv region also suffered due to the fall of downed Russian drones,” the Ukrainian Air Force wrote.
Russian strikes on Ukraine
Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Russia has been regularly striking Ukrainian territory, which poses a serious threat to civilians. Last night, Russians attacked Zaporizhzhia twice, killing one person and injuring 26 others.
