On the night of August 27, the Air Force of Ukraine detected and escorted 91 Russian missiles and drones, according to the Commander of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Mykola Oleshchuk.

The Russian occupiers attacked Ukraine with various types of missiles and attack drones. In particular,

  • 3 Kh-47M2 Kinzhal aeroballistic missiles (from MiG-31K aircraft operating from the airspace of the Lipetsk region, Russia);
  • 1 Iskander-M ballistic missile (from Crimea);
  • 1 Iskander-K cruise missile (from Voronezh region, Russia);
  • 5 Kh-101 cruise missiles (from Tu-95MS bombers operating from the airspace of Volgograd region, Russia);
  • 81 Shahed-type attack drones (from Yeysk and Kursk region, Russia).

As of 9 a.m., as a result of Ukrainian air defense forces' operations, the following were shot down:

  • 5 Kh-101 cruise missiles;
  • 60 Shahed-131/136 attack drones.

Russian drones were lost from radar, presumably crashed on the territory of Ukraine, one crossed the border with Belarus, and about ten more are still in Ukrainian airspace. Combat operations are ongoing.

Aviation, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare equipment, and mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Defense Forces were deployed to repel the Russian attack in most regions of Ukraine, including Kyiv, Khmelnytskyi, Rivne, Vinnytsia, Kherson, Mykolaiv, Zaporizhzhia, Kharkiv, Dnipro, Poltava, Zhytomyr, Sumy, Chernihiv, and Kirovohrad regions.

For the second day in a row, the Russians have been carrying out massive attacks on Ukraine using drones and missiles of various types.

On August 26, Russia launched 127 missiles and 109 drones at Ukraine, but Ukraine's air defense managed to shoot down a total of 201 air targets. Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umerov said that Ukraine is preparing a response to these massive attacks.

On August 27, Russia launched another massive attack. Explosions were heard in several regions of Ukraine, including Kyiv. The Kyiv City Military Administration reported that all Russian missiles and drones flying towards Kyiv were destroyed.
