Russia strikes Ukraine with 472 drones and missiles overnight: Air defense's work reported

On the night of June 17, Russia launched another combined attack on Ukraine. Russia fired 472 drones and missiles, according to the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Russia struck Ukraine with:
- 440 Shahed-type drones and imitation drones from the directions of Russian cities: Kursk, Shatalovo, Orel, Bryansk, Millerovo, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk. About 280 of them were Shahed;
- 2 Kh-47M2 Kinzhal aerial ballistic missiles from the airspace of the Tambov region of Russia;
- 16 Kh-101 cruise missiles from strategic aviation aircraft from the airspace of the Saratov region of Russia;
- 4 Kalibr cruise missiles from the Black Sea;
- 9 Kh-59/69 guided missiles from tactical aircraft from the airspace of the Belgorod and Bryansk regions of Russia;
- 1 Kh-31P anti-radar missile.
The main target of the Russian attack, according to the Ukrainian Air Force, was Kyiv.
Russian air attack was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare (EW) units, and unmanned systems, mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
As of 10 a.m., according to preliminary data, 428 Russian air attack vehicles were neutralized, including:
- 262 were shot down by firepower;
- 166 were lost locally.
Ukrainian air defense forces neutralized:
- 239 drones were shot down by fire and 163 by electronic warfare;
- 2 Kh-47 M2 Kinzhal aerial ballistic missiles (1 lost in the area);
- 15 Kh-101 cruise missiles;
- 8 Kh-59/69 guided missiles (1 lost in the area);
- 1 Kh-31P anti-radar missile (lost in the area).
Russian air strikes were recorded in 10 locations, and debris fell in 34 locations.
Massive Russian strike on Ukraine on the night of June 17
Last night, Russia launched a massive strike on Ukraine. Kyiv and Odesa suffered the most from the Russian attack.
In Kyiv, one of the heaviest strikes was on a nine-story building in the Solomianskyi district - Russianstruck a residential building with a ballistic missile. The Russian strike left more than a dozen killed and hundreds wounded in the capital. A US citizen is among the killed.
In Odesa, one person was killed and 17 were wounded in the Russian attack.
