During the night of October 28, the Russian army launched another attack on Ukrainian territory, using 38 strike drones, reports the Ukrainian Air Force.
The drones — including Shahed, Gerbera, and other models — were launched from the directions of Kursk and Oryol.
According to the Air Force, about 25 of them were Shaheds.
The attack was repelled by aviation units, anti-aircraft missile troops, mobile fire groups, and electronic warfare units.
As of 9:00 a.m. Kyiv time, air defense forces had destroyed or neutralized 26 enemy drones in northern and eastern regions of the country. Meanwhile, 12 drones hit four locations, and in one more area, debris from downed drones fell.
The Air Force Command noted that the attack was still ongoing — several enemy drones remained in Ukraine’s airspace. Civilians were urged not to ignore air raid alerts and to follow safety rules.
Overnight attack on October 28
That night, Russian forces once again targeted northern regions of Ukraine. The main target was the city of Chernihiv and the Chernihiv region.
The attack caused several fires and injured a woman.
Just a day earlier, on October 27, Russian troops also attacked Chernihiv and its surrounding district with strike drones.
The Air Force reported several groups of drones heading toward the city. Monitoring channels noted that about 15 Shahed drones were spotted near Chernihiv.
