Last night, Russians launched a large number of drones toward Ukraine. Despite this, most did not reach their targets thanks to air defense efforts, according to the Ukrainian Air Force.

A new Russian attack on Ukraine began at 6 p.m. Kyiv time on August 27.

This time, Russia deployed 164 drones, specifically:

  • Shahed-type strike drones (half of which were jet-powered)
  • Gerbera drones
  • Parodiya-type decoy drones.

The Russian drones flew from the following directions: Oryol, Bryansk, and Millerovo in Russia; the temporarily occupied territories of Donetsk; and Hvardiiske in the temporarily occupied Crimea.

Air force, anti-aircraft missile forces, electronic warfare and unmanned systems units, and mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Defense Forces were deployed to destroy the Russian targets.

The Ukrainian Air Force reported that as of 9 a.m., air defense forces had neutralized 137 Russian drones. All of this took place in the north, south, east, and center of Ukraine.

"Russian airstrikes were recorded at 16 locations, and debris from downed drones was found at 4 locations," the defenders specify.

According to them, the Russian attack is still ongoing. About 10 Russian drones have been detected in the sky.

Against this backdrop, the Ukrainian Air Force once again urged Ukrainians not to ignore air raid alerts.

Russians struck the Epicentr shopping mall in Zaporizhzhia; there are casualties.
