Russia strikes Ukraine's Zaporizhzhia region with ballistic missiles, leaving thousands without electricity

Thousands of people were left without an electricity supply as a result of Russian ballistic missile attacks on the Zaporizhzhia district in the evening of June 22, says Ivan Fedorov, head of Zaporizhzhia regional military administration.
"Almost 5,000 residents in the Zaporizhzhya district were left without an electricity supply as a result of a Russian strike. As soon as the security situation allows, power engineers will start repair work," he says.
The Russian attack also caused a fire in a private house. Rescuers quickly extinguished the fire, and there were no casualties.
Russian strikes on Zaporizhzhia
On June 22, in the evening, strong explosions were heard in Zaporizhzhia. Russian troops hit the outskirts of the city with ballistic missiles.
Shortly before that, on June 18, a Nova Post office in Zaporizhzhia was destroyed by a Russian drone attack. And on June 14, Russian troops attacked the center of Zaporizhzhia with drones and burned a warehouse with humanitarian aid. The damage was estimated at $3 million.
