Russia strikes Ukraine's Sumy: Mall and homes damaged, casualties reported

On the night of August 6, Russian forces attacked Sumy with guided aerial bombs. As a result of the Russian strikes, damage was reported, and there were casualties, according to Oleh Hryhorov, head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration, and Serhii Kryvosheienko, head of the Sumy City Military Administration.
"Russia launched four strikes with guided aerial bombs against the city's civilian infrastructure. Near the strike epicenters, high-rise buildings, non-residential buildings, and infrastructure were damaged. Hundreds of windows were shattered," Hryhorov wrote on his Telegram channel.
A little later, Kryvosheienko clarified that Russian guided aerial bomb strikes had targeted a shopping center and civilian infrastructure facilities in the Kovpakivskyi district of Sumy. According to him, in addition to residential buildings, stores were also damaged.
At least two people were injured as a result of the Russian strikes. They are receiving the necessary medical care.
Surveys of the affected areas and cleanup efforts are ongoing.
At 8 a.m., Serhii Kryvosheienko clarified that overnight, the Russians dropped 8 guided aerial bombs on residential areas of Sumy within 8 minutes. One of the aerial bombs was intercepted by air defense systems.
As a result of the Russian strikes, a shopping center, 5 stores, the windows of 10 high-rise buildings, 3 private homes, and 5 passenger cars were damaged.
In addition, the number of casualties has risen to 13.

Russian strikes on Sumy
