Russian forces struck Kyiv with ballistic missiles on the night of October 25, destroying the office and warehouse complex of Ukraine's second-largest pharmaceutical distributor, Optima-Pharm, according to RBC-Ukraine sources.
The total area of the destroyed warehouse is 29,000 square meters. Preliminary estimates put the damage at up to $100 million, which was roughly the value of medicines stored on site.
Optima-Pharm has operated in the Ukrainian market for many years. The company handles wholesale procurement and distribution of pharmaceuticals and medical products.
The ballistic strike also damaged the production facilities of the Ukrainian coffee company Idealist Coffee. The company is currently assessing the losses.
Russian attack on Ukraine
On the night of October 25, Russian forces launched nine Iskander-M ballistic missiles from the Rostov and Kursk regions, along with 62 strike drones, including Shahed and Gerbera models, as well as other types of unmanned aerial vehicles. Kyiv was specifically targeted with ballistic missiles.
The attacks caused damage and fires across three districts of the capital. Missile debris struck high-rise residential buildings. Two people were killed and 13 were injured in what Ukrainian officials described as another Russian terrorist attack.
