On Wednesday, January 21, Russian drones once again attacked the Odesa region, causing fires, damaging residential and industrial infrastructure, and injuring one person, according to Oleh Kiper, head of the Odesa regional military administration.

Kipper said that in the Odessa region, private residential buildings were damaged and destroyed, and a warehouse with furniture was destroyed.

According to preliminary information, a 50-year-old man was injured in the leg and was hospitalized.

“The fires that broke out were quickly extinguished by rescuers. All relevant services are working to eliminate the consequences of enemy shelling. Law enforcement agencies are recording another war crime by the Russian Federation against the civilian population of the Odesa region,” the Regional Military Administration said.

According to Chornomorsk Mayor Vasyl Huliaiev, this morning the Russian army attacked the Chornomorsk community in the Odesa region with drones.

“There is damage to civilian infrastructure and destroyed private houses in the community,” the mayor said in a statement.

As of 10:00 a.m., according to the State Emergency Service, fires broke out in the private sector as a result of the strikes. Two residential buildings caught fire, and several more homes were damaged.

A warehouse building was also destroyed, where a fire broke out. The service also released photos of the aftermath of the attack.

Rescuers added that all fires have already been extinguished.

Russian attacks on Odesa and region

The Russian military attacks the Odesa region almost daily with mostly drones, but also missiles and aerial bombs.

On January 20, a Russian drone hit a multi-story residential building in Chornomorsk. Energy facilities were also damaged during this Russian attack.

The day before, a Russian drone struck a high-rise building in Odesa. As a result, two apartments, the facade of the building, windows, and private cars were damaged.

Russian strike caused damage to residential buildings, power, and gas facilities. At least one civilian is known to have been injured.

DTEK reported that one of its power facilities was severely damaged during the latest Russian attack. Photos showing the aftermath of the strike have also been released.

On the night of January 18, the south of the Odesa region was hit by Russian drones, damaging the power grid.

In addition, on the night of January 17, Russian troops struck an energy facility in the Odesa region. This caused a fire and damage.
