This morning, Russia launched strikes on several regions of Ukraine, including Sumy, Zaporizhzhia, and Dnipropetrovsk regions, among others. The Russian attack is ongoing.

Sumy region

Konotop in the Sumy region suffered a massive Russian drone attack. Residential buildings, a hospital, administrative buildings, and the tram network were damaged. Tram service in the city is limited.

The Yampil community was heavily struck. Russians dropped guided aerial bombs there. A kindergarten and residential buildings were damaged. Four wounded people sought medical attention.

According to a report from the Ukrainian Air Force, drones continue to attack Konotop.

Konotop Mayor Artem Semenikhin reported problems with water supply and electricity due to the Russian attack.

"Part of the energy infrastructure has been destroyed. Part of the city is without power. In one of the neighborhoods, water will be supplied on a schedule of 6-9 a.m. and 6-9 p.m.," he said.

Zaporizhzhia region

Two men, aged 40 and 45, were injured in a morning Russian strike on the Zaporizhzhia region. Both are in moderate condition, according to the Regional Military Administration.

Ukrainian air defense systems were activated in the region, and drone attacks were detected.

Dnipropetrovsk region

In Kryvyi Rih, Russia struck infrastructure targets twice. One man was killed in the first strike, and another was wounded.

Oleksandr Vilkul, head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration, also reported on the second Russian strike.

"Another Russian strike on an infrastructure facility, unfortunately, one man has been killed and one wounded," the statement reads.

Russian attack is ongoing.

As of 9:15 a.m., Oleksandr Hanzha, head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration, reported that five people were wounded as a result of the Russian attack.

"A 40-year-old man was killed. Five other men, aged 31, 32, 41, 45, and 57, were wounded. Medical personnel are providing the victims with all necessary assistance," the statement says.

Chernihiv region

Overnight, Russian drones attacked two agricultural enterprises in the Novhorod-Siverskyi district. The fire engulfed grain storage facilities.

In the Horodnia community of the Chernihiv district, strikes on the private sector caused residential buildings and farm structures to catch fire.

Due to the threat of repeated Russian attacks, operations were halted several times, and personnel withdrew to safe locations. There were no fatalities or injuries.

Russia also attacked the Kharkiv region. As a result of a strike on the district center of Chuhuiv, one person was killed, and another was wounded.

Ukrainian air defense forces shot down 95 out of 123 Russian drones; the attack continues

According to the Ukrainian Air Force, on the night of April 27–28, Russia launched 123 attack drones of the Shahed, Gerbera, Italmas, and other types. About 80 of them were Shaheds. The drones flew from Kursk, Orel, Shatalovo, Millerovo, Primorsko-Akhtarsk, and from occupied Crimea.

Ukrainian Air Force shot down or neutralized 95 Russian drones. Hits were recorded at 16 locations, and debris from downed drones fell at four more.

As of this morning, the Russian attack is ongoing. Ukrainian Air Force has warned of new drones heading toward Odesa, Konotop, and Kryvyi Rih and urged people to remain in shelters.

The day before, Russia launched a massive attack on Odesa. High-rise buildings and a hotel in the city were damaged, and there are casualties. At least 10 people sought medical attention.

The Chernihiv region is also under Russian attack every day. Two people were injured as a result of a Russian attack on the region’s energy infrastructure on April 27.

In 40 minutes, the region was hit by 20 Russian drone strikes.
