Russian troops struck the center of Kherson yesterday afternoon, August 14. Medical workers were injured as a result of the Russian strike, according to the Kherson Regional Military Administration.

"Yesterday, at around 2:30 p.m. Kyiv time, 3 medical workers came under Russian fire in the city center. Two women, aged 47 and a 28-year-old man, sought medical help," the Kherson Regional Military Administration says.

As a result of the shelling, the victims suffered concussions and blast injuries. They will continue to receive outpatient treatment.

Russia strikes Kherson and region

Since the start of the full-scale invasion, Russian troops have been shelling Kherson and the region with artillery and drones.

On August 13, Russian troops attacked a civilian car traveling on a highway in the Beryslav district with a drone. Two people were killed in the explosion. On the same day, Russians also shelled Chornobaivka in the Kherson region with artillery fire. A resident was killed in the attack, and her house was destroyed.

Last week, Russians struck the Ostrivskyi Bridge with guided aerial bombs for three days in a row. After that, local authorities expanded the evacuation zone for residents of the Korabel, Yantarnyi-1, and Yantarnyi-2 microdistricts and all streets located below the Dnipro River.

The media suggests that the purpose of the attacks may be to destroy the bridge and attempt to land in the Korabelnyi district of Kherson to recapture the city. At the same time, the Ukrainian Defense Forces consider such a development unlikely.
